    Looks like Mario has gained some weight over quarantine.

    You really are a TAS genius. I didn't expect it to be so entertaining even though you don't even run.

    When's half a B press?
    (Love it Tom, keep up the good work!)

      well half a b press would be kinda boring since he could just keep holding it after using it at 7:58 so he could run through all lvls.

    No Running but sliding is allowed. Genius!
    Also i wonder why at airship level. The Fire Flower is jumping.

      Thanks! That's a funny little glitch where if the hit-the-block animation finishes just as the turret rotates, the block disappears and is replaced by an invisible, glitched sprite that just makes anything on top of it (Mario or the flower!) bounce, just like they'd been on top of the block when it was hit.

      @@LordTom77 it sounds as if the block changed for another block, specifically that one white block that makes mario bounce when jumping over it.

    0:51 are there certain movements you have to do for this part in the Non-TAS version? Or is it Tas-only?

    • @LordTom77
      @LordTom77  3 года назад

      It's just sliding by pressing down. You can then maintain speed by landing only on certain frames (about every 8th). So non-TAS would lose a little speed each jump by not landing on the correct frame, but would still be much faster than regular walking.

    Why did Mario grab a fire flower did it save time

    • @LordTom77
      @LordTom77  3 года назад

      Saves time there as it's the fastest way to NOT have the leaf, which doesn't keep sliding speed like flower or big/small Mario can

    7:58 That B press is illegal!

    • @LordTom77
      @LordTom77  4 года назад

      Explained in description...2-Pyramid is only level in the game that is neither skippable nor passable without b button. So a single press is used while not pressing left/right.

      @@LordTom77 I'm guessing there are still mandatory gaps that require Racoon/Tanooki Mario to clear without running. I recall 5-Fortress at least has them?

    • @LordTom77
      @LordTom77  3 года назад

      @@MasterKnightDH Yes, the first fortress in W5 requires use of a P-wing to fly up to a pipe (without running). Flight and gliding with the Tanooki suit uses the A, not B button, so it doesn't create confusion around possible covert running

    Hey. im also wondering another thing and would be grateful if you could help me. in the level 2-pyramid i wanted to test if it was possible to skip the level by clipping into the wall. i managed to do so but was met by another wall that was flat so i cant glitch through it. so what i wanted to know is if its possible to scale the wall with small mario like you did in the kaizo mario bros 3 tas or if you can fly over it with the leaf power-up? i started scaling the wall with small mario but after i while i started to sustpect that i had hit a ceiling. So if there is a ceiling up there then should'nt you be able to glitch through if you are big mario which you are with the leaf power-up?

    • @LordTom77
      @LordTom77  4 года назад +1

      yeah, I've been in that area many times, but sadly it appears impassible. There IS a ceiling at the top, so you can't scale the wall as small Mario. With big Mario, you can't get up to the corner where you'd clip unless you fly...and if you fly, you can't get up there with enough horizontal speed to clip. If you're using an emulator and want to force the screen to be able to scroll, you can set memory address $3ee to 1...much easier for playing around with offscreen stuff!

      @Zejoant 4 года назад

      @@LordTom77 thanks for the answer. and thanks so much for the off screen tip! i dont know how to set the memory address tho xD im not nearly an as advanced taser as you. is there any way see hammer bros off screen on the world map too? because its a pain trying to manipulate them without knowing where they go.
      edit: is it the hex editor you use to do that?
