Hello Roy, just watched your latest video and I really enjoyed it, very interesting and informative. Well done sir. I shall be watching again. You are a true gentleman. Thank you Roy. Keep safe and best wishes from the East Riding of Yorkshire. 👍🚂
Magnificent video of the model trains, and the layout too, i like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, my friend, just liked and subscribed. Stay safe out there, Roy. Greetings from Portugal to the UK.
Hi Roy, Yes the 411 EMU is a pain to uncouple that's why I extended that siding so I could leave it there but well done for trying to sort it. A very nice running session and the cab view was great I always think it gives a whole new view of our layouts. So keep well both of you and enjoy the warmer weather when it comes. Cheers Robert.
Yes, that is a downside to these modern trains having awkward couplings. Looking forward to the warmer weather. Thank you once again for your nice comment and yes we are both keeping well.😊
Layout looks great. I'll have to consider a removable backdrop on the controller side of my layout. As you say, it makes a difference when filming. Good tip 👍
So the cassettes are just L-shaped aluminium channels from B&Q or similar, fixed to a plywood base? That seems simple, quick and fairly cheap to make. I'm looking for ideas like this for a compact, traveling model railway, they would do away with the need to build fiddle-yards or loops at either end, and save on packing space for transit.
Yes, the gap between is equal to rail spacing. Use plain aluminium if you want it to pass the current to the loco not anodized as that seems to insulate it.😊
@@roystrainsExcellent advice! Thankyou! I think I'll document the development of my traveling layout on youtube, others have encouraged me to do that. It's still in the planning stage so I have nothing to really show yet, but the deadline to have it finished is December, so I'll probably be uploading lots of videos this year...
Just watched this with my grandson, an enjoyable video and running session. You've certainly got a nice model railway. Ours is a small layout that my grandson enjoys filming for his Dylington Model Railway channel. He's made some decent videos actually. If you've not seen them give them a view, we've turned off the to for his protection due to his age. But if you do decide to have a look and want to leave a comment you can on the Christmas one, or otherwise on here, just mention the name of the video you're commenting on. Anyway we've subscribed...cheers James

Glad you liked it.
That was very good. I liked the idea of a removable back scene and the 'cab views' when running is also good. Thanks for a nice video.
