I have owned long and short wheelbase Landy's and with the seats taken out of the shorty there was always enough room for everything I needed for my work in the forest. Living in a mountainous rainforest means that forest tracks are collapsing all the time. Which often requires turning on a track with no margin for error. The shorty works every time. If you are a weekend 4x4 warrior who needs to carry more than everything, I'm sure that you will choose the long wheelbase. I don't, I just need what I work with every day, short and sweet !!
Quite succinctly said with all the finer points in favour of the Defender 90 vi's a vis it's siblings.
The Willys/Jeep CJ3B was much more nimble as compared to the Jeep/Mahindra CJ 4A for the same reason, plus the quality decaying in the absence of imported components post the late 1960's.
there is no guarantee that it will make from A to B and back to A. It may be able to do that via visiting C( repair shop).
