  • I kayak camped on the shore of the Colorado River, between Lee's Ferry and Glen Canyon Dam, Arizona. The night sounds were loud, varied, and very soothing, so I thought others might enjoy. For me, this is like one of those relaxation or meditation videos, ahhhhh. The steep canyon walls gave the sound some special tones. The sound recording is overlaid on the video, so don't try to match any sounds exactly with what you see. There are many frogs for sure, and crickets/insects, but I think there are also toads in the soundscape -- let me know what you think.
In the video you can see my solar powered kayak pulled ashore in Waterholes Canyon. The white spots in the water are frogs, and you'll also see bats and insects zipping around. It was a spectacular evening.
