Plus another PERFECT thing about that scene - that I didn't catch at first, is how Rick was so certain about everything he was thinking and doing when he was yelling at the both of them that he was able to register that their dumb asses were standing on the wrong side of him in one of the universes (thus his quote, "What do you two have to be so uncertain about which chair to sit in while I do everything!") so he just became certain about which chair he wanted each of them to be sitting in so the version of him on the top-displayed universe switched the sides they were on and the bottom-displayed universe's Rick just sat them down were they already were standing. . . blew - my - fuckin - mind . . .that was genius writing

They have the best pilot episode of any series, started and finished reassuring me I have a show worth sticking around for.
I have to disagree, the pilot didn't impress me that much, because it was improvised so much, it felt cringy, especially at the end.
But the show really picks up pace starting the next episode

The pilot gets more and more clever over time.
On it's own, it's sort of a lame pilot, but with everything the characters have gone through, especially this past season finale, and how much people actually want the show to keep going on, watching this pilot is almost like reassurance than actual desperation.
Kind of amazing.

That hurts after watching the season 5 finale.
Seeing how affected Rick C-137 was because of Diane and Beth's death, and how he searched the entire multiverse trying to avenge them, I think he said the "failed marriage" thing just to pretend he was in fact the Rick (Rick prime) from that universe where he settled in; the same universe where Rick prime abandoned Beth and Diane, something a failed marriage would cause. So maybe he just said that to pretend he was in fact the Rick that abandoned his family. Just a guess

Because it's explained well by Morty, then proven by Rick. Morty explains, it's not logic, it's feelings. And Rick proves him right by using it as it's commonly used, to say something is stupid. The show literally showed you the answer so people wouldn't have to and you still missed it
