I think that this small guitalele, due to the size of its body, sounds better tuned higher. Personally I like it in G#. And because of the 48mm neck, the thinner the strings the easier it is to play! By the way the head nut is badly cut, I replaced it to have more space between the strings! 🙂
Yes the low E is too sloppy but it's just one string. For me it's worth it to be able to practice songs in the correct key and you get more transfer of skills back to the dreadnought.
