- I got a call from a friend about a property they usually maintain but haven't been able to mow it in awhile. They asked for my help, so I showed up sight unseen. When I showed up I realized a regualr zero turn mower wouldn't work, so I went and rented a tractor with a brush hog. The grass was over 6 feet tall and very thick.

I was terrified the entire time! Waiting to crash into something or fall in a hole and being me (who stops for turtles and toads) worry about fawns left sleeping in long grass. Another job best left to guys with their own special set of skills, like you. Appreciate the opportunity to ride along, though. Thank you. Kris of MN

Sue Wolfe- Great job, Brian. This was quite the undertaking! I remember this property and thought it was a huge piece of land compared to what you normally cut. It was so relaxing to watch and knit must have been an experience for you since you were using this tractor and bush hog for the first time. You passed with flying colors! I can remember using a brush hog when I was a kid on my grandad's place. Fun and satisfying for sure. Considering the temps coming up this weekend, I kinda long for tall green grass and a chance to mow! Stay warm !

Now all you need is a hay rake and a bailer and you can make the big bucks. By the way always raise the mower deck when loading and unloading. You can adjust the cutting height with the resr wheel and your raising handle.😅

Your friend should have told you they had not cut in several years, as it took that long for some of that to grow that tall, but as usual, you did a really good job and made the field look a lot better. They knew who to call to get the job done.
Not for Johnson Grass, depending on conditions.

Looks good but I’d offer two suggestions. Mow it twice. Take it down to 10-12 inches the first time and then lower it down. Second thing, slow down. Bush Hogs have different type of blades than lawn mowers. They cut better when you slow it down. Loved this one!

How many acres would you say that was and how long did it take you to mow it all down. For someone who has never operated a tractor and a bush hog, you did a phenomenal job. No matter the job, how big or small, Brian can handle them all! God bless you!

For a project that size, some drone video would have added a unique touch. Maybe having it follow along just above and behind you as you plowed through that tallest area while you were hoping you didn't unexpectedly hit any hidden objects.

Ok. Now I want one of those. My husband won't let me use our riding mower because I've crashed it a couple times. It's the kind with the two bars instead of the wheel. I told him because he won't let me use it more, I can't get any practice and get good on it. This one looks better!!
