I watched this video yet again. So, instead of doing the text as a cut out, what if ..... make the text an engraving, then the area inside the inner circle that would have been cut out be a reverse engraving. Sort of like you did with the store employee name badges in a video years ago. The text would really stand out and you would eliminate, or at least reduce, the amount of text manipulation required. I think that would be a cool looking ornament as well. Now to find that other video again.
How do you make your letters hollow? Mine stay solid and therefore will cut them out as so on the laser machine instead of keeping the letters on the wood piece. Thanks Doug!
Great video, when I weld my text I loose the insides of the letters. I've converted to curves, I did the ctrl and k to break apart, selected and weld, any ideas thanks
Great video. Im new at this. Does the lettering need to red for the cutting. Mine was black. I cant figure how to fill it in other colors. When i cut mine with the laser, it cut all the letters and off of the innner circle. Just trying to figure out . Thanks
I have a question about the very last step. Mine wont change to a think line. I am very new to this program and trying to learn but its not giving me the option to change it. Can you please help? Thank you for your videos! I have found them very helpful.
Thank you! I tried it again and it works this time. I have another question if you don't mind. I tried making it and it has horrible chard marks all around it. Do you have any settings recommendations so it looks nice and clean like the example photo you showed at the start?
Doug Green we are doing 1/8 of an inch. I have a 90w laser. We just tried it at 50% speed and 30% power. I made it lager and it's the best out of 5 I have done. We are doing another one with 20% power and tape on 1/2 of it. I saw where people do that to help eliminate the chard marks. However if we are trying to maximize my time to make things I don't want to spend forever pealing tape off. We just got the new one done and the tape made a huge difference. I am very new and this is my first real project. I very much appreciate your videos and help.
thinking you have a Chinese type laser (most people that have one use lower power), I would try 100% power and maybe 15 speed and see if that helps or higher speeds, 1/8" wood should not char ? is this plywood?
Very helpful video. Thanks for taking the time to make it and for sharing your knowledge of Corel.
welcome, I love making them, just have run out of ideas, now they all come from Viewers questions
Thank you Doug for the very thorough lesson
Great, glad to hear
Doug,
I am having trouble with my menu bar. Cannot get FILE, ARRANGE, TEXT etc to show up. I've tried everything!!
Great work.If I want to print it on wood with a laser machine, do I have to use TRIM it before printing?
