From my years of listening to 8 bit covers of songs, something I’ve heard in them that irks me sometimes is that it has too many instruments to sound like it’s coming from an NES, because iirc, and NES only has a handful of sound channels. So to hear music that sound like it’s coming from more than just 5 channels, feels off to me. Now this cover, this is something I feel could be replicated to a t on an NES. This is just my opinion so feel free to disagree with me
oh yesss, totally, i really just use the plug-ins that "sound like" 8 bit, but in fact it is not 8-bit because i know that implies some limitations, and i like to do my covers more freely so i just do them like that, i like to explore what an 8 bit sound can sound like in a "total" with modern effects and process and stuff, i put "8 bit cover" on the title to other people to undersand the concept or style of the video:) but i totally understand that it may be different than what you expect when you look for 8-bit:) thanks for sharing your thoughts!
