Saying "modern civilization finally made its way up from mainland Japan" right after talking about the Ainu people is no different from saying "modern civilization finally arrived in the Americas from Europe". It's a huge gloss over the colonization history of Hokkaido by Imperial Japan in the 19th Century, during which Ainu people were dispossessed from their land and captured to work in forced labour mines. It would've been okay if you were simply ignorant and left the Ainus out like other average foreign travel vloggers; instead you decided to bring up the subject for your entertainment content without any research or respect in a very frivolous and distasteful manner.
This is what using the internet for good is all about. I get a big dopamine hit every time I watch an episode and it is in the same class as Bourdain. Its the best
Just finding this channel. Amazing photography and so much better than 99% of creators who waste your time talking at the camera trying to build a personal brand. Instead this channel shows amazing landscapes and focuses on telling the stories of amazing craftsmen and restauranteurs. I love it. Dare I say this show gives me the same vibes when I first started watching Bourdain in my youth. Amazing show.
@@tominotopia Its also a direct rip off of Anthony Bourdain. All the way down to the monotone voice and writing. This is style theft in the most blatant sense. But people don't like truth about the things they like.
@@Mutiny960always got to be one hater. The man is making great engaging videos and it’s not about him. Most importantly it’s about the culture he’s experiencing, learning about and embracing. Only good vibes in this video, more than you can say about your comment.

You’ve me brought tears when you said people from Hokkaido are hardworking and fun. They are really kind of that simple in the best way possible. And yes, always help with the dishes. Kudos to this fantastic video of my beloved Hokkaido!
Hokkaido is basically my second home during winter for the past 10 years. The episode was terrific and absolutely captured the essence of the Hokkaido snow and food culture that I love! Great job guys!

this is by a thousand miles the best food documentary I ever watched in youtube. The music, oh my god the photography is some of wildest and best i ever seen. Even better than a lot of movies, the people the design. Its just amazing
Hey guys, thank you so much for this amazing, brilliantly shot and easy going narrated little documentary. As someone who is working for almost thirty years in the TV and media industry I really appreciate a well shot documentary with a present but not too present narrator, beautiful footage and a fitting soundtrack. And as someone who loves Japan I can only say thank you for being curious, open minded and respectful towards the Japanese people and their culture. 本当にありがとうございました!
I miss Hokkaido. Being able to ride on an empty mountain is amazing. Was fortunate enough to do so at Mount Asahi-dake. Even though the mountain was closed due to heavy snowfall, my group got access and it felt like I was riding on the ocean with a snowboard. Amazing place even in the middle of winter.
Damn with the incredible narration and cinematography, i feel like im tagged along to this trip. This channel deserves more subscribers than it currently has
Wow this is the first time I seen this channel in my feed and I'm really impressed, it combines regional food, some history, and adventure in a well productioned package, great shots, good music choices, and showing a lot of respect to the locals. I did notice the the bow given was always at or below the Japanese persons bow, even though you are taller, which is a good sign of respect, very subtle, but noticeable, I like that. Great channel, can't wait to explore more of your content. This video could have easily been 45 to 60 min video, but 30m was good too, but you guys definitely hit up so much, I think we would have enjoyed the extra content fleshed out a bit further and more detailed, overall still was great, but its always better to have them wanting more I guess haha.
I love every episode of this series. feels like the show has soul in it, the best way to explore, I cant wait for the next episodes and hopefully many more to come, around the world. also that shot of Josh out on the shore after the surf and sea behind and dark and raining WOW.
I just want thank you all who created those series of film about Japan so beautifully. Those are the best films I have ever seen showing my home country.
