I remember as a kid, my 2 brothers and my cousin would regularly crowd around our tiny CRTV (13"?) and play for hours. We likely have each of us around 4,000 hours in Air Ride. We would regularly get all the achievements, then start over on a 2nd memory card for fun. The first time it took us about 14 months. After that? Maybe every 6 or so we got all the achievements. Fun fact, the "alien invasion" saucer is called a Destroya, and is a world-destroying ship sent by NME in the anime to destroy Pop-Star and Kirby. The first part of the last episodes of the anime was basically an advertisement for Kirby AirRide, showcasing four of the air ride machines (Shadow star, Rocket star, Wing star, and Formula star.) Kirby used one of the Machines to fly into the Destroya's cannon, swallow a bomb, and nuke the thing using the Crash ability
I checked both the Kirby Wiki and WiKirby, and neither stated it was actually the Destroya. The Kirby Wiki mentioned a resemblance, but they have never been confirmed to be the same.

Sword's also a good ability for the mode 37:52 Another fun fact: this is actually the strategy speedrunners do when going for 100% speedruns for City Trial. 40:10 One more fun fact: if you're having trouble trying to unlock a specific stadium, you can manipulate the RNG by selecting a few stadiums you don't want then set it to "shuffle." It will increase the odds of getting one you don't have yet!

Might also be why he struggle to get Air Glider to spawn?? In a similar vein, my sister and I used to play camera mode in melee and snap a bunch of pictures (usually after maxing out the pokeball drop % and spamming them in the stadium stage)

Silly Ryan Gosling not knowing that the Spin Attack is the most overpowered attack in Air Ride: It makes you invincible against every attack and can lock opponents down to one-shot them. Combined with Spiny power-up, you can defeat Dedede in less than 10 seconds.
This game was a bright spot in my childhood during a particularly tough period. It’s a lot of fun, a hidden gem, and definitely needs a remake. We got Paper Mario TTYD back, it could happen!

I used to do this game with my friends where we would do Free Run and one of us would be Hydra while everyone else would be any other star and it was kinda like a boss fight where the Hydra player was the boss that the others were trying to take out. When the Hydra was defeated, the role of the Hydra pilot would pass to the next person. It was tons of fun back in the day!

See, on budgies you can usually tell their sex by the color of the pad above their beaks, where their nostrils are (the "cere"). Females will usually have a brown or pink cere while males tend to have blue. But the vet was also confused because apparently brown ceres in males is usually a sign of testicular cancer or iodine deficiency and my budgie had neither. Easy mode for the Dedede challenge, doable in under 10 seconds in stadium mode: Compact star, reset until a spike ability spawns between you and Dedede. The compact star has the best combination of turning radius, stopping time, and acceleration to mash on the spike ability while keeping on top of Dedede's movements easily. Technically doable with other vehicles, but more consistent with the compact star.
As a kirby air ride connoisseur, I can assure you the time trials are not luck... if you know the secret technique... It's just spinning into the wall Kudos on the 100%
This dedication makes me wanna het a rom of the game and actually beat it for a change. I was about roughly 85% with all of the modes and never beaten them. Also very impressive but also interesting you used the shadow star against King D. It was tough but its nice you made it, but the way i did it was odd but helpful. I used either the Swerve Star or Wheelie Jr. and grinded up offense and charge and if the spike power up appeared, i spam tf out of the A button. But this is true dedication as a whole...but i pray to god for you when you do Air Ride...its horrible

I loved playing City Trail with my sibling becausw of stories, too! We pretened we lived in different places and well each car was a store vehicle. Great video and I bet the stream had fun chilling.
I have never played Air Ride, but I have the weird feeling that it genuinely cannot be that bad compared to the required perfection of getting platinum on Ability stages and Blowout Blast on Platinum or the insane streetpass grind of getting all the keychains 9 times in Triple Deluxe or beating the bossrushes in all the old games that don't give you healing between fights.(Yes, I just listed all the things I, for diffrent reasons, have not been able to do in the games I have played, lol)
I remember i was missing 6 achievements, I played this almost NONSTOP as a kid. The Mic Kirby tat I got later in life was partially thanks to this game!

My siblings and I used to spend most of our time free ride just picking out places to be our homes, with different cars that were our babies. We also called the box car what it was.
I only got into this game recently, and I think Air Ride might actually be my favourite mode. Maybe has something to do with the graphics. Also, I got last place in a race with the Dragoon because I got turned around TWICE. I'm sure that if there was more than one lap, I could've pulled it off, but... not in the single race.

I loved playing City Trail with my sibling becausw of stories, too! We pretened we lived in different places and well each car was a store vehicle. Great video and I bet the stream had fun chilling.
I have never played Air Ride, but I have the weird feeling that it genuinely cannot be that bad compared to the required perfection of getting platinum on Ability stages and Blowout Blast on Platinum or the insane streetpass grind of getting all the keychains 9 times in Triple Deluxe or beating the bossrushes in all the old games that don't give you healing between fights.(Yes, I just listed all the things I, for diffrent reasons, have not been able to do in the games I have played, lol)
Never had a GameCube growing up, but the daycare I’d go to sometimes would always have this game on Free Run and it felt like such a cool game
This is honestly one of my favorite games from the GameCube era, and it's actually the game that made me interested in kirby as a kid.

My siblings and I used to spend most of our time free ride just picking out places to be our homes, with different cars that were our babies. We also called the box car what it was.
I only got into this game recently, and I think Air Ride might actually be my favourite mode. Maybe has something to do with the graphics.
Also, I got last place in a race with the Dragoon because I got turned around TWICE. I'm sure that if there was more than one lap, I could've pulled it off, but... not in the single race.
