We would regularly get all the achievements, then start over on a 2nd memory card for fun. The first time it took us about 14 months. After that? Maybe every 6 or so we got all the achievements. Fun fact, the "alien invasion" saucer is called a Destroya, and is a world-destroying ship sent by NME in the anime to destroy Pop-Star and Kirby. The first part of the last episodes of the anime was basically an advertisement for Kirby AirRide, showcasing four of the air ride machines (Shadow star, Rocket star, Wing star, and Formula star.) Kirby used one of the Machines to fly into the Destroya's cannon, swallow a bomb, and nuke the thing using the Crash ability
The whole Free Run bit was so relatable. My brothers and I would do the same thing of making a "home" and putting the different stars into our "garage". So cozy, loved this game growing up

We naturally got the 2 hour achievement just because we were doing stupid things like playing hide and seek or trying to destroy a bunch of vehicles. In a similar vein, my sister and I used to play camera mode in melee and snap a bunch of pictures (usually after maxing out the poneball drop % and spamming them in the stadium stage)

I used to do this game with my friends where we would do Free Run and one of us would be Hydra while everyone else would be any other star and it was kinda like a boss fight where the Hydra player was the boss that the others were trying to take out. When the Hydra was defeated, the role of the Hydra pilot would pass to the next person. It was tons of fun back in the day!
An 100% completion of my favorite kirby game, absolutely wonderful and have childhood memories of it as well. Really hope this game gets a sequel or ported one day. Also I have never seen someone struggle to get air glider and I got it on like my 5th time playing the game when I was little xD

Huh... I'm reminded of when the vet told me my late "female" budgie was a male. See, on budgies you can usually tell their sex by the color of the pad above their beaks, where their nostrils are (the "cere"). Females will usually have a brown or pink cere while males tend to have blue. Also very impressive but also interesting you used the shadow star against King D. It was tough but its nice you made it, but the way i did it was odd but helpful. I used either the Swerve Star or Wheelie Jr. and grinded up offense and charge and if the spike power up appeared, i spam tf out of the A button. But this is true dedication as a whole...but i pray to god for you when you do Air Ride...its horrible

I have never played Air Ride, but I have the weird feeling that it genuinely cannot be that bad compared to the required perfection of getting platinum on Ability stages and Blowout Blast on Platinum or the insane streetpass grind of getting all the keychains 9 times in Triple Deluxe or beating the bossrushes in all the old games that don't give you healing between fights.(Yes, I just listed all the things I, for diffrent reasons, have not been able to do in the games I have played, lol)

yeah, smash bros is really bad when it comes to kirby stuff. no world locations, no lore. the one thing it does do is basic grunts, barebones arbitrary picks. subspace emissary was supposed to have 02 as the bad guy, but it got shafted and replaced with tabuu because the smash bros director "doesn't like 02". that is WILD.
honestly? you right about free run, that mode was crack for me and my sister, making our own fun in it. hide and seek (and finding out of bounds or wild kirby float locations in the process) among other things was the goat. it really do be a different time.
Dude this was one of my favorite games to play on gamecube as a kid. Used to play with my cousins amd we would fight over the dragoon pieces. Cause i remember hyrda will drop like a stone in the flight mini game.

I remember i was missing 6 achievements, I played this almost NONSTOP as a kid. The Mic Kirby tat I got later in life was partially thanks to this game!

yeah, smash bros is really bad when it comes to kirby stuff. no world locations, no lore. the one thing it does do is basic grunts, barebones arbitrary picks. subspace emissary was supposed to have 02 as the bad guy, but it got shafted and replaced with tabuu because the smash bros director "doesn't like 02". that is WILD.
honestly? you right about free run, that mode was crack for me and my sister, making our own fun in it. hide and seek (and finding out of bounds or wild kirby float locations in the process) among other things was the goat. it really do be a different time.
Dude this was one of my favorite games to play on gamecube as a kid. Used to play with my cousins amd we would fight over the dragoon pieces. Cause i remember hyrda will drop like a stone in the flight mini game.

Wheelie scooter is among the best for it if you get no specials or upgrades.
