Words. I'm sick of hearing them. Whether those words come from Brad Scott or any of the Essendon players, I'm sick of hearing them. Melbourne had no Gawn and no Petracca, but it rained. And Essendon couldn't see past the "but, it's cold and it's wet and it's raining" mindset. There's no excuses. They're just meek and useless when games are played in wet weather. And then losing to Adelaide was just beyond pathetic. The second and fourth quarters showed that Essendon had all the unjustified hubris of a team that had already ticked off the game as a win before it even started. And they got what they deserved. But everyone else deserves more than words. The only appropriate answer is action. We'll just have to wait until Saturday to see if that action is delivered.
finally a word of reason as a bombers supporter for more than 20 years it's beyond a joke now there's never action only words which don't deliver and broken promises Brad Scott is trying but at the same time we hear this crap time and time again from different coaches of Essendon and unfortunately still deliver f*** all - there's always excuses and NO action, it's amazing the team still has supporters if im being honest. This is the cancer that has been ingrained in Essendon's culture since 2016, It will be hard to cut out and throw away. Essendon players (not all) don't know what sacrifice, hard work and tenacity it takes to win when it matters. They've been allowed to coast along without accountability all these years and have become lazy. That was laziness that I saw against Adelaide and nothing else. Brad Scott has his work cut out to change that mentality, it will take time. I won't be surprised if Essendon lose to St. Kilda.

Dodoro and co have slowly, over 20+ years, cultivated a team of low footy IQ athletes, soft pretty boys, and kids with 2 loving parents that went to Xavier college, NO mongrel, hard at it, just footballers. The Johnson's spring to mind. On top of that, a club with the hierarchy that breed near enough is good enough. We, Brad and co is definitely on the right track, but to get rid of that toxic defeatest attitude, is going to take time.
Agree, its really strange, they've always been losing motivation tail end of the season. There's some weird aura around the club, always ends up in a hard drop and no where advantageous on the ladder.
Adelaide were allowed to play good footy. Just like Melbourne who were in free-fall and without Gawn. Just like Geelong who were in free-fall and season was done. Just like Gold Coast Just like Carlton (at the time). There is a clear pattern. We play everyone back into form in the second half of the year.
