I was just in TEARS watching this!! I DIDN'T KNOW!!!! What a GREAT Family! Elizabeth was INCREDIABLE! Paul too! So sorry for their little girl! But-JAKE--YOU GO!! GO and CHANGE the WORLD just like Your MOM!! BLESS YOU!! and--THANK&YOU!!!
Elizabeth was a true warrior, and it sounds like Jake has taken the baton and will keep her fight alive along with his dad. I was a teen in the 70's and loved Starsky and Hutch. I was so saddened when I learned of both Arial and Elizabeth's deaths. My prayers went out to Paul and Jake as well. Dad has done a great job raising this young man.
I've just finished reading Jake's wonderful mother's book, 'In The Absence of Angels'. As I finished reading the book yesterday, Elizabeth mentions Ariel's birthday on 4th August. It was 4th August that day. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Ariel for yesterday. Ariel and Elizabeth are still with you, Jake. This wonderful 'Beautiful Gene', therr truly is Angels.

I was a teenager when Starsky and Hutch hit the tv. OMG, those two guys were so hard on a teenagers hormones that were raging at the time. I can't imagine the pain of burying my child, I've seen it with friends and what it does to them is devastating to depths you can't imagine. To lose your spouse, the love of your life, also at a young age, full of life. I don't know how Paul got out of bed in the mornings. Thankfully he and Jake have each other but I can only hope that the pain eventually gets a little less. They are carrying on Elizabeth's legacy and that is awesome. He still makes my heart skip a beat, but it's more of a feeling of love towards a person who has been through hell. I've donated blood ever since I was 18, and I have no idea how many gallons I've donated so far, but I needed 7 units of blood 4 years ago so I'm grateful for people who have donated blood. The screenings get more complicated each year but I'll do the paperwork knowing that I could be helping to save someone's life. Paul and Jake, you guys ROCK!!!!
So sad. I remember Paul M. Glaser was in the Netherlands and he announced his marriage with Elizabeth Glaser. I still have the newspaper article. They were so happy back then and when you see that pic it's sad to realize at that moment they didn't know what was ahead for them.

as women are seen as victims (unless she's a drug user) since she got it by having hetero sex, whereas gay men got it through gay sex. Ppl don't even try to hide their disdain. Even I do it to a degree and I have worked with HIV+ people since the late 80's. I'm sorry for him but he knows little about living w/hiv. He is wealthy and taken care of. I do admire him for doing what he does as he, too, is exposing himself to judgment. He does put a face to the illness, which is such a good thng.
First question asked when status is revealed, is 'how' infection happened. It is was a transfusion or a hemeophiliac issue, you can see sympathy in the eyes of those near. If it was transmitted sexually, only thing one can see is the "you play you pay" look. Yes, young Glaser has suffered, but his life is so inceribly different than 99.999% of those with illness, that he could never understand what your average poz male is going through. Gay men are judged harder than females. TBC....
I dont care how a person gets HIV / AIDS certianly not in the ense of judgeing or condeming then. While we all know more then back in the 1980 s and 1990s my belief is we are all human and make mistakes, mistakes meaning not protecting yourself or trusying a untrustworthy person.....wich is why I HATE when others ASUME a person is gay or streight because either way they made a wrong choice and we have ALL made wrong choices at some point in some area or another
