2015 Kifaru ECR Hot Tenting Extravaganza. 5 day winter outing.

- A video of this year's ECR. Lowest temp was measured at -17F, wind chill unknown. It could have gotten colder. Arrived on Wednesday, let on Sunday. I used my Kifaru 6-man tipi and large Kifaru stove. There were Kifaru 8-man, Paratipi, Sawtooth, 4-man shelters at the ECR. Bushcraft such as pot hooks and friction fire was also done.
Watching all your old videos cause these seem like pretty sweet adventures... R.I.P. man

I miss him so much, he still is the most easy to watch outdoors channel on RUclips, it is always entertaining and packed with life saving tips. I loved is gun in a boot before bed. Kevin gave me hot tenting to think about when I found out I had cancer, he literally helped me stand back up and fight, fight hard. Still here, a year longer than they said. Nothing is impossible you just need stimulation and distraction, not to dwell and give up. Stay safe in this crazy corona times.

I grew up in Minnesota, so I recognize the sub-zero F squeaky crunch of snow under boots. It sounds like you're walking on chunks of Styrofoam. Breathe in through mouth, past teeth slowly. Breathe out through nose, slowly, to prevent nose frostbite.

Walker you know you can patch that little ember whole up top of your chimony by taking 550
Cord and taking a small
Peice with s needle nose
Pliers and light it on fire
Then blow it out then put
A flat pan or cup on the inside and put that little peice of 550 cord and blow it out and stick it on
The whole and press with another object to flatten out the melted 560 cordedge makes a
Realy good patch

I am curious about what yall would suggest a shovel option on a winter backpack trip? we went on our elk hunt in 2018 and I brought my sawtooth. Over a foot of snow dumped, and I was using my boots to clear out snow for the footprint of my sawtooth. Snow was even deeper in the trees where we were setting up. Thinking I should have an option for a snow shovel next time. Leave it at the truck if it doesn't snow, bring it with if it does.

Nice program and nice weather. One question however, why not showel of the snow from the ground Before putting up the tent? In the military we Always did it, nuch warmer and less moisture, wich made the clothes dry faster.
There are different ways of doing it. I will either dig down or float. Truth be told I prefer to float the camp on top if possible. Thanks for watching!

Lower moisture content in standing deadwood. Works better in the stove within that environment. Thanks for looking!
Darn it. I accidentally removed a comment and have no clue how to undo it. The bow saw's blade was very dull however if not it would have been fine. I wish they didn't have edit and remove comment so near. Sorry to whoever's comment I just removed.
