Hi Mikey. Hexo is a static site generator, it generates all your content to static pages (html, css, js etc.) to be put on your server. Normally you don't have a CMS to manage its content (you can though, for example, using netlify cms). Ghost on the other head provide a full package (front and backend) to user. You can also use it as cms to work with the front end you choose. IMO the concept of headless CMS or JAMStack in general is good. However, for normal users, it is still way too complicated compared to WordPress. That's why WordPress is still the most popular platform in the world. As for myself, I move all my blog posts to Hugo and Hexo as I don't have the need to modify content regularly. All my contents are stored on Github and I use Netlify to generate and host my site.
