You could actually place power lines INSIDE the zonings and they would latter be replaced automatically by buildings?! HOW COME I SPENT 20 YEARS OF MY LIFE WITHOUT KNOWING THIS?!?!?! :P
I remember back when I 1st got this game. I remember the first thing I did was try to plow down all the trees in the spot i wanted to build in and I got yelled at by protesters.
Back when i first played, zoning residential and airports and wondering why nothing was happening When i figured some stuff out id spend a lot of time placing water pipes on every tile
Ah back in the day when i was a kid, in my Kindergarten class room they had the old Macintosh two in one desktop computers with this game installed, all i ever looked forward to was playing this game and enabling all of the disasters at once on every city.
The answer is no. People don't enjoy living next to pollution. I always stuck my power plants and industry in the corner so the pollution was far away from my residential
My main question is THIS, I've started the year in ,1950 and now itd the year ( mind you I put NO disaster cuzz I am a newb) how long is the time for a city span life before it grades you? I star also in the 1950s. Also because it doesnt take too long for Nuclear Power to become available I mean in civilizations II , it was supposed to be span of 5000 years - 10000 years , given you start in bc time, just asking. Also I've now accustomed to not adjusting the auto-tax just by , 1% again. I really would like to know how to increase my earnings to 1k after 10-20 sim years.
There isnt end year where they score you. You can have a slum town or a paradise. Grid city or a more organically designed one. Re: Making money. The biggest costs are services/ordinances. If you just want to make money quick, zone residential/industrial tons without providing much in the way of schools/hospitals/police till demand peters out.
It can make sense in hard mode though because you only have 10k to work with and thats another 5$ per square so you can build more quicker when it counts because that bond will eat you alive lol
This really shows a flaw in the logic of sim city imo. I don't know all the variables, but I think the game should punish the player for making the city symmetrical and computer like. I feel that would make real life people very unhappy. It be more interesting if the player was more rewarded by making use of the lands natural shape to achieve higher land values, tourist appeal, or whatever.
Have you checked the property values of cliff side real estate in this game? They’re usually at max. My main issue with this game was the unrealistic density and structure type distribution. High-rise condos and sky scrapers all over the city right next to single family homes. No downtown separate from suburbs.
@@bizichyld you can make it like that. water and trees where you want 3x3 skyscrapers, no water and packed zoning where you want shorter 2x2 buildings. and remember, every 3x3 building needs roads covering at least 2 sides (one corner).

I love sim city 2000. It's free on origin so I got it and I love it even 20 odd years later.
is this the DOS ver or a later version? GOG sells the DOS, and i grew up with the latter!

Only in SC2k.
How- w-what- w-why... I- nevermind.
as a kid I used to cut funds for transportation and I didn't get that normally you do not need to rebuild roads every other year or so...
Yeah and how come no other city builders has adapted this feature.
To save money next time, only build your power lines across roads, and let the zones fill in to provide power.
but they build faster if the lines are provided in advance,

They are cheap
I should really be studying

The "Zu" sound for electrics is strange and iconic.

lol flooding from a tiny lake, gotta love SC2000
Feels real good to get here time to time.
So soothing
How those citizens survived without running water for so long is a miracle. The early 1900s were rough.
Still to this day I dont understand how the fire and police dispatching works
Because you have no fire or police, the National Guard has been dispatched to your city

If SimCity 2000 is just on, that's my hardest difficulty.
Zoning light is a waste IMO in my experience. Eats up the same amount of power but generates less revenue. Go with dense for a better result.

Wtf you talking about man? Neighborhoods and cities are planned symmetrical all the time in the real world.
