I was a classic car and motorcycle restoration engineer and part of my work was machining, none of that CNC stuff, proper machining 😉 with Colchesters and Bridgeports etc . We used to remanufacture brand new out of production prewar engines from scratch and I had to machine what came back from the foundry into engine shaped bits. I was trying to figure out what those engine blocks were coming out from the casting process near the end of the video, it's hard to see and even get a scale but I wondered if they were either the old BMW 2.0 straight six (as found in the old prewar 319,327 etc) or possibly if the scale is bigger, something like a Deutz 6 diesel?
That scratches a Kraftwerkian itch I didn't realise I had....so looking forward to Oct 26 in Bristol. And exciting Friday is coming ever closer now! Thanks chaps! Pip pip!
Exactly what I just said to my dad when I sent it to him. He used to listen to it around all the usual Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc. I did a computer science a level when I was 13, burnt out then did mechanical engineering. Machines & technology are so cool.
The Kraftwerk comments were expected but I immediately thought of Station to Station and Hitchcock with the initial images and intro. Look forward to the live gigs
In addition to all of the aforementioned greatness that this track carries I also love the nod to Every Valley’s “Progress”. Sept. 24th can’t come soon enough.
Wow, this is PSB gone heavy metal! Almost like Vangelis & AC/DC at one point! Fantastic work, sounds like it's mixed Kraftwerk's The Voice Of Energy! Weird, had Blixa on the mind after watching the Sky Arts Hansa Studios documentary the other week. Highly recommended anyone to watch that documentary. One criticism, this track not have died at the end. It should have reprised for another good five minutes. Would like to make my own edit like years ago with cassette tape cut up versions from tape to tape.
The ending is pretty abrupt, other than that it's a great track. I never thought I'd hear Blixa Bargeld in a collaboration like this but I'm digging the result. A very pronounced Kraftwerk/Neu! vibe going on here.

Blixa? It's lovely and relentless and continually twisting and convoluting and continuing and confusing (Einstürzende Neubauten-ish? No doubt I'm wrong)
Some of the chemical brothers ones are pretty good too. I love this video too, think we take all this technology and all these smart people forgranted sometimes.
Every song on this lp is incredible. I have other albums by psb and this certainly ranks top 2 beaten only marginally by race for space. However, I think this will become my favourite. Awesome, truly awesome!!!
Amazing but just too short, the time went to quickly to dive into that mood of PSBHQ and Blixa, a mix of you, Einstürzende Neubauten and a bit of Kraftwerk. A symbiosis of British and German music - I hope we'll can hear more in future!? (... I'm thinking espacially of "People will always need coal" which hits also German history hand in hand with the British one)
100% in agreement - this song could ramble on for another ten minutes, and it'd sound great. Deffo ended too soon, just as it was reaching one helluva crescendo!
In addition to the references already noted by commenters, I would like to call attention to the very clear similarity in tone, thematic topic, and subject of "another brick in the wall" by Pink Floyd.
Great Track! Too bad that Blixa uses such poor grammar: »Formen den neuen Mensch« and »Lassen frei den neuen Mensch« instead of »[…] den neuen Mensch*en*«. Sure, there is freedom in poetry and art, but it still hurts a bit to a german listener … :-)
As an old school machinist/toolmaker,and an avid fan of Kraftwerk and 70s electronica, this is heavenly perfection!!!!
Spot on! Perfection in rhythm and automation. It's not that different from nature. Waves & Patterns are everywhere

Just listening to this track and was thinking the same. :)
Made me smile that comment

Harmonia I think..😉

PSB meets Kraftwerk... Love it!
... and Einstürzende Neubauten! That's something extraordinary!
Public Service Broadcasting + Blixa Bargeld = Masterpiece 🔥
Brad Fiedel described his Terminator theme as 'a mechanical man and his heartbeat.' I'm getting that same vibe with this. Love it.
As a collector of train sound recordings on vinyl this really appeals to me
Ganz großes Kino! I love it that in spite of the fucking Brexit artist are still connecting between UK and Europe/Germany. Don’t let them stop you!
This is the PSB we know and love, this track should be ten to fifteen mins long so you can immerse into it
Yes, the only thing that I do not like about this track is that it's way too short!
Richtig schön kraftvoll!
Könnte mir gut vorstellen, dass das in den goldenen 20er auch ein Hit wäre!
The Kraftwerk comments were expected but I immediately thought of Station to Station and Hitchcock with the initial images and intro.

PSB meets Kraftwerk via Ramstein. Superb!

The sound of this track rather reminded me to the "Machinists of Joy"-Album by Die Krupps. I agree with you that it is way too short!
@@Marsmensch-hi8jp Oh yesss! Die Krupps & the genius that is Ralph Dorper!
Thanks for my fix of intimidating Orwellian gloom ☺️

Way too abrupt, should have had a reprise finale to that. Weird that!
Clocks gone. If you want us to punch back in you'd better arrange a meeting with our union rep
This is awesome.. Your creativity and skill deserve a million followers.
Super! Endlich habe ich für einen Klimawandel-Smalltalk bei der nächsten Party tolle Argumente für mehr CO2-Ausstoß😂😂

Great song, sounds like Kraftwerk with a little bit of Rammstein.
How have i not heard these before. Amazing. Roll on Birmingham.
Splendid! After VANGELIS in the Lichtspiel III, KRAFTWERK in Der Rhytmus! 🛠
Blixa?
It's lovely and relentless and continually twisting and convoluting and continuing and confusing
(Einstürzende Neubauten-ish? No doubt I'm wrong)
These guys keep getting better and better! Was lucky enough to see them in 2013 and have been dying to see them since
I almost cried with utter joy at hearing this for the first time today. Just magnificent. Looking forward to the Manchester and Berlin gigs.
The triple train tracks at start…T.E.E.
Nice nod. I like.
Great to hear Blixa on this, more!!!!
Every time you release a song from this album my excitement only grows... Loving the sound so far!
Avantgarde AF, love it!!

I'm so excited for this album!
Das Lied alleine ist schon ist ne Klasse für sich.
Das Video rundet die Sache bestens ab .
Fabulous music. Incredibly atmospheric.
Classic PSB meets Kraftwerk = brilliance!
This is gold. You guys are incredible!
4 years too long, but I'm glad to have new PSB music to listen too.
Thanks Chaps.
Best track so far.... Can't wait for the full album
Another terrific track - I am a sucker for these accompanying videos!
Some of the chemical brothers ones are pretty good too. I love this video too, think we take all this technology and all these smart people forgranted sometimes.
I was already yelling "THEY DID THE THING, THEY DID THE 'MENSCH-MASCHINE' THING!"
...and then 1:28 happened.
The man machine, machine
Machine, machine, machine
Machine, machine, machine (machine)
The man machine, machine
Machine, machine, machine
Machine, machine, machine (machine)
🤣👍
Excellent. Thank you guys.
Simply, YES THAT'S IT!
Roll on album launch tomorrow and the upcoming tour 🙌 whoop
Utterly brilliant.
Love it!!!
Nice. Really gets interesting with the more legato section towards the end and the vocal melody capping things off well.
What a superb piece of rock/electro/metal with German sounds and superb drumming and riffs. The best PSB track for a while LOVE IT!
I have nothing to add but....YYYYEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Love this band ! Live they are awesome.
I’m sooo here for this.
Good as always
Fantastisch
Some similarities with Inform, Educate Entertain... Yet so different at the same time. I wonder if they will ever make something I dislike 🤔
Blixa 😍
Achtung spitfire!
Amazing 😀
Every song on this lp is incredible. I have other albums by psb and this certainly ranks top 2 beaten only marginally by race for space. However, I think this will become my favourite. Awesome, truly awesome!!!
Alles gut-)
I love this video (I found original pictures with Iggy Pop about machines)
😱 speechless. 😀
Love this video…I saw the same image with Iggy Pop about machines…

MAybe it blends into the next track..?
Extended remix please!
I heard Blade Runner mentioned in the 6music interview yesterday - can really hear it on this one!
I want PSB to rescore Metropolis.
You Clever Buggers, Yet again 😉😘
This sounds good. Then you plug in yr earphones. And it becomes incredible. Looking forward to Pryzm Kingston on Thames 27th September
Tooooooooooo shoooooort! Mooooore! Please! Or a bit longer! Thanks for this masterpiece!!!!
Ich liebe!

Maschine Thinking.
Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Grosstadt!
In addition to the references already noted by commenters, I would like to call attention to the very clear similarity in tone, thematic topic, and subject of "another brick in the wall" by Pink Floyd.
Very good. Just like what Kraftwerk did 43 years ago.
Nothing’s new.
O M G!
Futurism nostalgia
Kraftwerk!
Wow - a real masterpice like the other songs so far from this album!
A nod to Kraftwerk in this no doubt.
You guys sound a lot like my stuff
I named one of my cats after Blixa
Is anyone else getting Satan by Orbital vibes?
Yes 👍
Kraftwerk meets blade runner meets M83.
PsB meets NiN
Great Track!
