      I am lucky to have a RF, it's simply just a good reliable bike,fast enough to get in trouble with the authorities,but not insane, handles great and is responsive to hard braking etc, guess I love my bike!!

    I've just looked up a set on ebay and it seems cheaper to buy the entire cylinder head with the camshafts (£65 posted).
    If i want a decent upgrade for camshafts then it's either custom or yzf750 which are rare to come by and usually in the region of 4to500 pounds. On my fzr1000 anyway and i would also need stiffer valve springs and programmable cdi.
    Really cheap to upgrade the rf900, cant wait to pick mine up.

      Nice project. RF900 motor with Gixer head would be sweet. GSXR 750W and GSXR 1100W camshafts will do great job, both sets have more lift and duration than RF900 camshafts. Cam chains from DID or Tourmax are good quality.

Every time I get my leg over then old girl I know she will give me some and plenty more. So test drive? I will be looking forward to the video so I join the queue of a zillion questions regarding the cam mod. I also have done the Irwin Jet kit, advancer, had the cylinder head rebuilt, Beowulf can and a very twitchy right hand. Have I said the rf900 is an awesome bike? Guess what? Where is the test ride? I literally pick mine up next Wednesday and have been following your video's and they've convinced me to buy one while I'm currently rebuilding my entire bike. The gearbox went and it was drinking oil and puffing smoke for a while before. An old fzr1000 exup from 1992 so it was really due a refresh in all areas.
    Any excuse to buy another bike my mrs say lol.
    Anyone know how much space there is under the seat on these bikes as i like to carry a fairly substantial tool kit, for a bike atleast and 1 or 2 250ml bottle filled with oil.

    Witam kolejny fajny materiał ale czemu od GSXR-a lepsze wałki niż RF coś dają ?

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  4 года назад +1

      Walki od GSXR niekoniecznie sa lepsze. Dla wielu beda "lepsze" ,ale znajda sie tacy ktorym bardziej odpowiada charakterystyka walkow z RF bo jest bardziej "stonowana ?/ przewidywalna?"
      To zalezy czego kto oczekuje od silnika i jego charakterystyki. Walki od GSXR maja inny "lift"(wysokosc otwarcia zaworu) oraz "duration(czas otwarcia zaworu)" co powoduje widoczna zmiane w krzywej oddawania mocy. Pod filmem sa dane do walkow z RF i GSXR wiec mozesz zobaczyc ze sie roznie znacznie. Walki z GSXR daja bardzo agresywny przyrost mocy powyzej 5 tys obr, mowiac krotko sprzet idzie ostrzej na walkach z gsxr w zakresie od 5 tys w gore. Przyrost mocy w tym zakresie jest od wyraznie wyczuwalny. Placisz za to delikatna strata momentu obrotowego w zakresie ponizej 5 tys. Gra jest jednak warta swieczki bo strata "dolu" jest ledwo wyczuwalna a przyrost w srednim i wysokim zakresie jest miodzio :)

    Unless the cams are free, this is a total waste of time and money for a non noticable change in performance without the jet kit and exhaust and the tiny amount of power you may of gained is all up the top end so you won't even use the power for everyday and let's not forget to disconnect the pink wire. The pink wire is the best performance mod on an rf900. It's free and is guaranteed real actual free horsepower.

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  2 года назад +1

      Sorry chap but what you say is TOTALLY wrong. Difference in power delivery is VERY NOTICEABLE after cams swap. Secondly this isn't just top end power..with those cams RF's engine gets rapid from 5k rpm till red line so you gain midrange and top end. Thirdly this will bring results without mods to carbs. So lots of WRONG stuff said chap..
      Finally - pink wire does nothing on 94 models(possibly 95 too) so your recommendation will make sense on later models only and quite frankly pink wire unplugging is barely noticeable change..
