    Why is Nigerian government not holding the oil companies for cleaning up, not creating jobs, and modernizing Delta State? These people are going through miserable lives.

    • @lnfinite_Mind
      @lnfinite_Mind 2 года назад

      I know that you said this years ago and I doubt you’d be able to see this. The real reason why the government isn’t doing anything about the oil companies is because they bribed the corrupt government of Nigeria and the army would even take out protesters on the oil company’s request. During the 90’s there were some people that tried to get Shell out of their country, but Shell bribed the government to have them “taken out.” It’s sad what greed and money can do to some people.

      While you can blame the oil companies for reckless practices like uncontrolled flaring which they will not do in their counties of origin, you cannot expect them to directly develop the communities. The governments at all levels are even more irresponsible!
