Way out in the woods I stumbled upon a spot metal detecting.
I was out exploring and following old rock walls in a huge deserted colonial farm and not finding much, but I was really in some rough terrain. I started following some putts in the ground along a brook and was swinging my Fisher F19 as I went. All of sudden I was hearing nail iron in the ground and new I found a spot where people did thing. Reading the landscape history as I go is how I find these old places and this one was pretty cool. Once I started digging I could see that there was a lot of broken and melted metals as wells as old tools. I found a really cool old overalls button from Cantripum Brattleboro VT circa 1930 as well as a suspender latch. This was definitely a loggers landing or even small camp . you can imagine back in the 1930s which is almost 100 years ago these men had to work and sleep out there for months at a time while they harvest timber.

That last odd item looks a gate valve. An interesting area to hunt. It is hard to imagine people living and working in those areas.

I truly enjoy your videos! I live vicariously through them! At 65 and not in great shape, I can no longer participate physically, but I relish each and every visit I get to take with you! The memories of my youth that you bring back were as deeply hidden as some of the treasures that you find, and I find myself thinking about them throughout many weeks!! Thank you so much for taking the time to bring us along!!
