Who can guess what the last song on the album is going to be?
Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair?
Wild Rover?
Red is the Rose?
@@Learethak YES omg i love this song, it would be amazing to hear a cover of it by Colm!
Barrels o whiskey?
My Roomates came and heard what I was listening to and started clapping their hands and stomping their feet You've definitely earned their seal of approval.
did the furniture survive?
ARRRRGGHHH!!!!!
Sure they did
Ngl if they didn't join in when they heard this, they aren't the kind of room mates you need.
Oh how I’m loving the build up to the Irish playlist coming soon! See y’all tm folks! Have a wonderful rest of your day ❤️
Here's the lyrics in case anyone wants them:
As I was a goin' over the far famed Kerry mountains
I met with captain Farrell and his money he was counting
I first produced my pistol and I then produced my rapier
Saying "Stand and deliver" for he were a bold deceiver
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
I counted out his money and it made a pretty penny
I put it in me pocket and I took it home to Jenny
She sighed and she swore that she never would deceive me
But the devil take the women for they never can be easy
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
I went unto my chamber, all for to take a slumber
I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure it was no wonder
But Jenny drew me charges and she filled them up with water
Then sent for captain Farrell to be ready for the slaughter
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
'Twas early in the morning, just before I rose to travel
Up comes a band of footmen and likewise captain Farrell
I first produced me pistol for she'd stolen away me rapier
But I couldn't shoot the water, so a prisoner I was taken
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
Now there's some take delight in the carriages a rollin'
And others take delight in the hurling and the bowling
But I take delight in the juice of the barley
And courting pretty fair maids in the morning bright and early
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
If anyone can aid me 'tis my brother in the army
If I can find his station in Cork or in Killarney
And if he'll go with me, we'll go rovin' in Kilkenney
And I'm sure he'll treat me better than me own me sportin' Jenny
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
I always thought it was "redgar" instead of rapier.
So thanks i guess.

Not commonly traded that far west at the time. The French rapier was a very popular design up and down the Atlantic coast.
Another cover for my study-playlist for my final exams. Your songs really helped me out not to freak out while studying maths. Can't wait to hear that one, alarm for the premiere is set:)
Don't forget! Whenever you meet your math teacher just pull out your pistol and your rapier.
I don't know how you can concentrate with this in the background.
I don't know how you can concentrate with this in the background.
I'd really like to hear you do The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot. I think it would be a good fit for your vocal range and sound
listen to back home in derry by christy moore, that would give you a good indication on how it should be done
I really really hope "Barrels of Whisky" is the next song after this.
Dude that would be amazing, I adore that sonf
A good song mixed with Colm McGuinness can it get any better than that?
I love how talented you are. The way you change your vocals and the fact that you play damn near every instrument is truly amazing. Please keep it up ❤️
_His secret is, he's got doubles who wear the same Colm McGuinness sweater in the shots where his face isn't visible._
I grew up with the familiar sound of The Dubliners, and none of the other versions ever seemed right to me - this, however, is a wonderful rendition, and I wish you all the best.
Love from Denmark!
This album is going to be so incredibly handsome
This will be so PERFECT for my Renaissance Fair playlist! I have no doubt this version of this song will be my favorite.
I LOVED the Dubliners's version of this song, yours is deff coming in with it!

absolutely amazing!!!!!!
One of my all time favorite songs, though I'll be honest all of these Irish Songs and Shanties are some of my all time favs. Can't wait to hear it!
I've listened to Thin Lizzy's 'Whiskey in the Jar' so many times, I clicked so fast as soon as I saw this! This is such a beautiful and joyful version!
Please, good Sire, consider your version of "DIGGY DIGGY HOLE", in the name of all dwarves I beg you.
Oh boy do I have news for you
I second this good bard
Softly head bangs in the bed at 1:33am.
I love Colm's Irish versions of songs. I love all his music but I've always had a love for Irish folk music. Great job Colm
Really pumped for this one of my all time favorite Irish tunes!!
Have sung this song many times (so many I've lost count). Can't wait for your version!
I'm mostly familiar with the Metallica version of this song so this was very VERY different. And also completely awesome!
Metallica was my introduction to this song. The Celtic Thunder cover is one of my top 3.
Same
My Da used to sing this to me at bedtime along with the Irish Rover when I was only a young buck back in the 1970's. I laughed so hard when I realised the Metallica song I thought was so metal was what he put me to sleep with years before. Up until then I didn't recognise the Metallica version even though I'd heard the Thin Lizzy version as well. How stupid are we when we are young ;-)
I am really familiar with Metallica's version which led me to Thin Lizzy and then to The Dublinners.
@@Moondog-wc4vm blame it on James's voice hahaha good thing he learnt how not to blow up his vocal chords.
Yes one of my top favorite Irish songs. Great job with colms voice and top marks on the different instruments. Love how you can see how much colm puts into each song especially his facial expressions.
I haven't sung along to a cd of the Dubliners in far too long, thank you for doing such great covers! Now the neighbors are going to hear it 😁
The joy you experience performing is palpable. Thank you so much for sharing your boundless talent!
btw, Colm's rendition of Come Out Ye Black and Tans has 17k likes, and 700k views. These numbers need to equal out. Every minute they stay this lopsided is an offense to great music lol
I may be part of the issue there, unfortunately I can only like it once though
@@MrMokele03 Exactly.
The problem is, we go back and listen to it five times, but can only like it once.
I just wish 2/3 viewers who watched it left a like is all lol
I've watched it 12 times since it came out, and only was able to like it once.
Maravilhoso!!! Adorei!!! Que voz perfeita! Gratidão e muito sucesso!!! 💜💜💜🇧🇷
I think it calms been drinking a little too much this is a lot of drinking songs for one man.
i love the fact when you sing you look so happy and like your really enjoying yourself its nice to hear music from somone so obviously passionate about what they do
This one's going into my playlist of drinking songs. Cheers, Colm!
Just wonderful,
Very sad and heartbroken today, but this made me smile. Thank you for such wonderful music. ❤
Good stuff!
Colm this is an absolute classic 👌
I just discovered this channel and I have listened to so much of his stuff. This is truly fantastic music.
This guy covers all my fave Irish songs!! Singing along 😊
I love so many versions of this song but THIS is how it should be sung!! Fantastic!
This song just reminds me of being back in Balintober. Living in the little town and excavating the castle for four summers. I miss it and green hills.
I love this so much! I'm so impressed with how much you've improved over the past year and a half, mainly because you were already fantastic before! Every new song from you is a gift, thank you!
Can't wait to hear your version of this song
I heard an Irishman sing this live in a pub while we were visiting Dingle in County Kerry. I’m in love.
Thank you so much, I am a bass with a wide but low range and having access to songs I enjoy AND can sing in my range has been a real blessing.
Ah the song of my childhood. And a fantastic rendition at that!
One of my long time favorite songs and your version has joined my top favorites of it. Such a joy to listen to
Incredible you never disappoint I love your content you have an amazing voice that is impossible to get sick of
Y’know, this is the first version I’ve heard of the song where I can actually make sense of the rhythm of the chorus. Good show, dew. I love it.
Best version of this song I've ever heard. 🔥🔥🔥
The Frenchwoman that I am and each moved and transported by the fantastic quality of your music and cover, thank you!💖
If Colm could bottle and sell that energy, it would solve the world's petroleum crisis! One of my favorite Irish ditties, performed with zest and humor.
I love the days I log into youtube and see another Colm song upload. It's just always brightens my day!
Ha! Another Irish favourite of mine covered by one of my favourite Irish artists. What could be better 😄 This bouncy version was really fun to listen to. Thanks, Colm. Super excited for your album release.
It's one of my favorite songs! Thank you!
I only discovered your channel about a week ago and I've been listening nonstop! I've downloaded all your songs on itunes and can't wait to download more in the future!
Clapping and tapping... good craic 👌🏻
Seven drunken nights and poor paddy plz 🥰
One of my favorite songs covered by a music genius. Best day ever.
One of my favorite songs!
Excellent songs! I’m loving the Irish songs and Irish variations of others!
One of my all time favourite Irish songs
This reminds me of the American Civil War song called We´ll Fight for Uncle Sam.
I can guarantee this was the original.
Sincerely an American.
You look like you're having so much fun doing these! I'm grateful to your art, Colm! Keep up the good work!
This is extremely nostalgic for me. I love it with every fibre of my being
Hello from Texas USA! Absolute great cover! I look forward to hearing a lot more of your music! You are absolutely talented, and I love the soul and energy you put into it!Thanks for making my day with this fantastic song!!
This is now my favorite version!! You beat out metallica’s :D
Oh Jesus! I'm totally in heaven with your channel!!!! I found out it listening "hoist the colors" and thought "oooh his voice singing LOTR" and now I'm in love 😂😂😂
Lively and heartwarming. Your energy is appreciated Colm, and thank you for the strong fluting!
the faint nod to Phil Lynott is Just perfect. sounds great...
Oh wow, you just surfaced sweet nostalgic memories of my trips to Scotland. Those were the best times :) Thanks man!
Figures that the day I took a break from youtube is when this gem would hit. So glad to see this classic! Love it!
So this is where the tune for The Irish Volunteer came from.
Nobody likes to think about what likely happened to Jenny once the singer's brother and friends learned what she did. Not a pleasant thought. I hope she had the good sense to skip town.
Excellent performance as usual.
Colm’s music just makes you 😀. Incredible talent!!
Couldn't have asked for a better one....favorite song by my favorite singer!! ❤️
Possibly one of my favorite Irish folk songs. I'm certainly looking forward to your album coming out.
I love this song and your cover is so wonderful (as always), thank you ❤
Beautiful cover for a beautiful song!
Absolutely 💯 amazing! Great energy, stellar voice and tune! Love love love! 🎶🔥🤩
I have had the whiskey in a jar, paid and looked in hollow stump and there was my quart jar!
One of my favorites!! Thanks Colm ☺️
Always cheering me up at work with the good vibes
Spectacular cover of a wonderful song! You've done it again, sir, this is going on the playlist for sure

I like this guy.
Fantastic version! Thank you!
Man I've never expected to hear this one here but I'm not complaining. It's awesome!
This cover is my newest favorite of this song! Well done, Colm!
Loved this song since my ma introduced me to the Clancy Brothers as a kid. Love hearing these old classics!
Aye a great tune .
You are absolutely awesome!
Wonderful! This is one of my favorites. Would love to hear Wind that Shakes the Barley either version.
A cover of Kinky boots would round things out well for the Irish covers.
omg i can't stop screaming! this is the coolest ever!!! best wishes to you always!
edit: thank you for sharing your beautiful culture with us
God damn this is a song from my childhood that i forgot i knew. What a trip when i heard the chorus!
Just AWESOME!!
This brings me back to my time in Ireland. Can't wait to go back.
Came for the cover of "I'm Still Here" from Treasure Planet.
Stayed for the beautiful Irish music by an equally beautiful Irishman.
Brillaint 👍👍☘☘
Ok, this is the BEST version yet, great vocal, very clean melody, absolutely my fav version so far!!! I've been listening to this channel all day, everything is f awesome! Have you done the Molly Malone song?
One of my favorite songs and I was losing my ish when I saw you made this. Great job!
When you've had a long and hard day at work and just can't be bothered... but Colm uploaded a new video so life's good again
This is amazing Colm. You really outdone yourself... again 👏🔥
