This is a beautiful graveyard. The stones are very impressive. The one man who died in his 90s in 1756 was born in the 1600s. It's great to find a very old one like that. I could wander around there all day. Thank you, GV.
Oh people born in the 1600's just gives me goosebumps. The headstones are still readable and so long ago. Lovely entrance beginning of the graveyard. Thanks again for the tour
Wow. So many old stones! Dennis Doyle, deceased at 92 years old in 1755, would have been born in 1663! Imagine what he saw in his nearly 100 years between the 17th & 18th centuries! Boggles my mind. Beautiful place! ❤
Another great tour GV,marvelous how some of the headstones have remain clear for so long, take care, safe travels to you both ,god bless 🙏🙏👋👍👍May all R.I.P🙏🇦🇺
Truly a beautiful area, you walking into the gateway of the church made me think of the secret garden 🌳🌿🍀⛪✝️ I pray the departed are with Jesus in heaven ❤❤❤
What on earth are people doing by wrecking graves, i honestly can't comprehend it at all. Love old graveyards and reading the headstones. The headstones are all over the place as if they had fallen out of a plane and whenever they landed so be it.Interesting explore GV ,keep up the good work. 😊 💙 xxx
Honestly G.V. for an ancient cemetery, it's not too bad, hopefully someone will come in and clean it up. I don't care what is written on my headstone, but Rather my Name is in the Book of Life. God Bless You & Sue, exploring historical sites, I may never see!
Wow, this very old cemetery is absolutely gorgeous. And the epitaphs are just beautiful. I could spend hours and hours there. Thank you for remembering them GV and God bless ❤Teresa 🇦🇺♥
Beautiful little cemetery and it is really sad that some people cannot control their urge to deface headstones. Thank you so much for sharing Cathal and have a great week.
I know it’s overgrown and maybe tricky to move around in GV, but all that green is so lovely and feels like an invitation to explore right through the screen. Wish I could be there myself exploring in person. Thanks so much for bringing these places to those of us that are so far away.
WOW What a fantastic find this place was GV 👍🏻 It has to be my favourite one so far, the ruins, wonderful old headstones and I love when nature shares the space with the departed . Fabulous video 🫶🏻
The stones being so old ,actually able to read and remember them.i wonder what they did in life😊. .grown over but always beautiful cemetery because departed love ones are RIP awesome video. Thanx so much.❤😊❤😊
Thank you for taking me here. What a fantastic & beautiful piece of history if not sad. I often think what life must have been like back then, their worries, fears, hopes & dreams. May they rest in peace
Despite the nearby traffic theres an air of serenity to that place. A real jewel. Its a bit overgrown but not comply lost. That makes it even more magical. What a lovely old place of remembrance and rest.
7:25 Right next to that headstone with the Face of Jesus on it, looks like super tall stalks of Poison Ivy and stinging nettle. I hope you didn't get stung badly while walking around that overgrown graveyard. Poison Ivy Stinging Nettle are nasty little bits of fun to deal with when exploring overgrown areas. I figured that out very early on in life. It is so nice to see such old grave sites like this where the headstones are still in amazing condition, and so old too. Gravesites of people from the 17th century! amazing!
It’s a shame some kids defaced that grave stone, but it just shows their mentality. Lots of Old graves from the 1700’s which is something to ponder who they were and how they lived. Thanks GV for another great adventure, God bless, OT.
While I appreciate when you clean up grave markers, I really love these beautiful, overgrown, green places. To me it also means they are at peace from lawn mowers, and leaf blowers while nature surrounds them in natural lush. So peaceful looking.
Please keep doing these wonderful videos! It would not be the same without you my firend! I so look forward to watching these amazing videos and listening to your smooth voice!! A laugh for you my friend. 😉😄
Very nice, quaint graveyard Cathal with some old head stones. Who would have thought some would be early 1700s! You know they are old when they have sank half way into the ground and you can only read half of the stone. Still love seeing those that are adorned with holy carvings. Thank you. Good readings today. ♥️☘️
The given name "Darby" brings back memories of the Disney film "Darby O'Gill and the Little People"(1958), which I saw at the theatre when I was 7 years old!
I wish the people of this world would start to document all these headstones so family lines can be traced in the future. It needs to be done all around the world, and archived before we lose them back to nature.
So much history in Ireland, would love to visit someday. Irish expats have made major contributions to my country too, they have my respect! God bless the Irish people! I'm not sure the grave was vandalized, based on the view from the video. The pattern of breakage just didn't stand out to me as having been done by a sledgehammer or some other blunt force. I could be wrong but I'm thinking it might just have been concrete failure due to water and ice damage over time.
Beautiful graveyard, very interesting. I am guessing that it is no longer in use. That graffiti is probably by two young people who do not know any better; Next time, they can carve their initials on a tree. That crypt with the broken top, why was large stones placed on top of the grave before placing the top over it? Great video, thank you very much GV. Have a great day. 😊
You are just as right to also read out the names of the graffiti writers, as you are to read the names of the long deceased; on the one hand, bringing remembrance of the dead, and on the other hand, emphasizing the shame of those who desecrate the dead.
I don't understand people vandalizing graves, it's just sad, disturbing a person's final resting place. How would these people like it if someone graffitied or otherwise damaged their family member's final resting place?
I wonder why you can read graves from the 17 hundreds while so many 18 hundred ones you have a hard time reading. Why do you think GV? Great visit! Thanks 😊
@@Liz_678 from atleast my knowledge if I’m right it’s what’s being used for the headstone, soap stone is softer and more susceptible to wear from the weather than say harder material granite which will take longer to wear down due to elements

Although the grass is thick, it also gives the impression of "caressing" the tombstones rather than totally blotting them out.
