Thanks to all at Cornell who made this possible. In the midst of a difficult spring in my own life, I have renewed hope. Watching the Cornell Hawk family has reminded me so vividly that live moves on, we all grow and change. Nothing could have reminded me of that better than the drama that has unfolded these last few months. Heartfelt thanks from Texas.
This has been an adventure of a lifetime for me. Already being a big fan of birds having one as a 'son', I knew I would enjoy the ride, but did not expect the utter joy in watching it all unfold. Thank you to all the moderators& part time mods and knowledgeable chatters for your patience and expertise. I have learned so much about the world of the Hawk. Have sent my donation, and will continue to do so. Looking so forward to next year!!
Have been watching since the beginning and like many I find our little family a great comfort. Thank you to Cornell, to the mods, and to everyone in the chat for making this such a wonderful experience.
Watching this hawk family for this time has enriched my life. I see them flying over and hovering over my house and the bluff behind. Nothing compares to this!! Thanks to the Cornell mods that did such an incredible job working the cameras so that thousands of people could see the 3 chicks grow up. Amazing job guys and gals.
Beautifully filmed! What an awesome privilege to witness the growth of these babies and the nurturing behavior of their parents! Thank you for taking the time to film this so others can get to appreciate the beauty of our winged friends!
I have been a "lurker" since before the hatch. It has been an awesome journey of discovery for me, and I feel so lucky to have witnessed it. Thanks to the cam ops, the moderators, and all.
The experience of watching the Cam this spring remains one of my most memorable activities. You have captured the awesomeness in this video. I still check the Cam daily to see what is happening to the birds. Wish I could follow them when they migrate and return to Cornell. Thanks so much.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I live on the UK and a friend of mine who used to go to Cornell sent me the link to this cam and I have so enjoyed it. Next year *g* I'll log in and join in the chat as I have really enjoyed the comments from the chatters and moderators as well as the wonderful camera work. Thanks!
Great video. I have enjoyed watching the Big Red & Ezra Hawk Nest Cam very much. I did not find out about it until right before the first fledge, but have been captivated & watched every day when I could since. I just wish Cornell had made an actual Facebook group for BR & Ezra fans instead of a private page that doesn't want to add fans of the birds only those who chatted in the chat room on the site. I look forward to next season.
Sorry to see the season come to an end, but also sorry that participation in the hawk chat room was so hard because of overmoderation. I mean why did there have to be 6 to 10 moderators all in BOLD type in the room at once. It was a joke. Next season lets keep it down to one (visible) (silent preferably) mod at a time, and give the shy lurkers a chance to be seen and heard. Thank You
Amazingly beautiful! I've had the privilege to watch red tails perform their mating dance and then watch them raise their offspring. Certainly a once in a lifetime experience for me.
I would even be willing to bet you could edit the season's video footage & make a DVD of BR & Ezra's 2012 nesting season and I bet people would buy it! That would be more money for Cornell Labs ornithology program since the stupid government keeps cutting funds for education.

So precious. I can NEVER watch enough of the awesome nature we have around us. Thank you Cornell Lab

1:25 offering a piece too large, and then cutting smaller. Very touching.
2:07 the chipmunk escape, followed by immediate pursuit :)
