My biggest frustration is how I wanted to help Jack get stable, as a friend, but not as a love interest. But when I do, it tries to trigger the romance options
It even seems to do that with Fem Shep a little. Jack basically asked if I was hitting on her and that she wasn't interested and that it was weird that I wanted to be friends and help her.
When Miranda tells Shepard, “I won’t be shared,” I feel like Shepard should say, “Technically, I’m the one who’s being shared, and I’m okay with that.”
I feel that science was well served here. In ME1 the confrontation had the option of asking "Can't I have you both?" Ashley just walks away but if you asked Jack and Miranda that, I feel you would end up with your spine ripped out your body a la Mortal Kombat style 😄

Tali is my favorite romance option, but I’ll admit that Jack’s is the most complex and interesting to me. The fact that there’s both a Paragon and Renegade romance is pretty cool
@@CiderBearUntier Nah that's pretty much the gist of it, growing up she's been prodded and abused and even begging for help in the facility she was held in no one responded to her, and as a young adult after escaping, she was similarly used into a blend of violence, crime, sex, and substance usage which ended up (rightfully) frying her perception of other people's intentions as only what they can get from her. It's an uphill battle to get her to lower her defenses because being so messed up as a child made her never want to be perceived as 'weak' again. Sadly no real way to get her to hash out her thoughts completely without romancing her, the best you can do for her strictly as a friend is the loyalty mission and little to nothing else afterward.
Jack and Same Sex Kaidan is the only reason why I play MaleShep. FemShep has just so much better line delivery. Not a dig on Marc Meer, but I feel that MShep just tries too hard to be calm and dry. That and Garrus.
@@empressink_ line delivery is kind of critical to voice acting. It's what brings the character alive. I tend to not make MSheps for the specific reason that everything that comes out of Mark Meer's mouth just sounds dry and uninteresting.

The best thing about the Mass Effect series is how many avenues you can go down depending on your choices. Unfortunately I'm a boring fuck so I play it safe and choose the same options with each playthrough because that's how I wanna play. I've been playing this series since it started and there's so much I missed out on...good thing you make these videos so I can finally see what happened.
The fact that all of us here are afraid of selecting a new unknown options, or a mean options, just shows how much the game makes you care, how great the writing is.
nah I love both paths but I'm more hesitant when it comes to certain choices like killing wrex in me1 or destroying Dr. Maleon's data in me2 due to personal attachments or war assets in me3 respectively
In my playthrough, I had romanced Miranda, broke up with her, had a fling with Jack, then after she said that was all, I went to Tali and romanced her. 3 in one playthrough. Still amazed I pulled it off.

Initiate the hookup scene (this makes it so romance partner is not possible but sex is). Then go talk to Tali. Start Tali's romance.
I've seen that smiling Shepard in the thumbnail for years and I still have no idea where it's from. It gets me everytime, but I couldn't tell you when it happens. Edit: OH! It's when you tell Miranda you're just trying to get her in bed. Lmao, that makes it 10x better.
2 interesting things: 1) you can break up with a romance after the Suicide Mission if you wish to pursue another squadmate, but still get the cutscenes and completely romance all available companions in a single playthrough. 2) if you romance Miranda and break up with her before exporting your save to ME3, you'll be able to start a different romance, but still let her survive Kai Lang.
I'm now trying to remember how, but once I managed to have three "relationships". The first with Miranda, the second with Liara (DLC Shadow Broker) and the third with Tali. And I think it would be possible to add Jack here (where she doesn't go up to your cabin))) I'll try to repeat this in the Legendary Edition, then I'll tell you how managed to done so)
Another weird thing about the romance mechanic in ME2 is that you can romance all potential squad mates for your character’s gender in one play through. On my first play through ever I chose Miranda (male shep). Then, I was surprised that you could play more after the final mission (cause you couldn’t in ME1) and I started to explore all the games options. I noticed that if you had gotten all romance options to a certain point you could complete a romance, dump them, then go to the next. What was weird was the other characters never acknowledged this out side the dialogue when you dump them. I never tried it again, especially since I now prefer a specific play through and romance, so can’t confirm you can still do that.
Yeah two stubborn and independent biotic babes, this can't end well! I prefer to pair Jack and Miranda together so I leave them alone. That said I wish I could make it clear in these conversation trees when I don't intend them to be romantic and I want to strike up a friendship even if they're compatible as a romance. Why can't male Shepard just be a mentor for both of them? Jack needs to learn to rely on other people more and Miranda needs her confidence boosted. It's the same thing with femshep and her male romance options. I'd like to be able to learn more about the Drell from an in character stand point. And because I mostly play paragon characters I feel Shepard would want to spend time with Thane since he's dying. I don't want him to misconstrue that with Femshep wanting a romance with him. I don't think a seperate "we're buds and I'm the leader so I want to make sure you're the best you can be" conversation tree is too much to ask.
I am sad at the lack of confrontation. I wanted to see that scene like in 1 but it be an utter fustercluck with you getting biotically slapped across the room twice if you suggest to keep both

I want to share a personal experience as a warning. If you romance Miranda in ME2, but dump her in ME3, she dies at the end of the Sanctuary mission. I did everything right *except* for that - and it was disappointing. No matter what options I chose in her final scene, it had the same result. Jack doesn't have that outcome, but Miranda's death is particularly upsetting.
I had a scenario in one of my playthroughs where you sleep with Jack (not a romance and doesn’t result in the romance scene ) and then still romanced Miranda. Jack approaches you in the mass effect 3 mission as if you had romanced her. Interesting stuff

I played as Fem Shepard which was really disappointing because I found both Jack and Miranda interesting characters, and you can’t establish love interest with them as a female (even though you can work all the way up to the commitment conversation, flirtation and all, and be turned away. Something I didn’t know about playing through the first time 🙃) I settled for some lesbian action with Kelly before getting some alien love action with Garrus. He’s not much in the looks department but he did bring me wine
Mass 3 play Female Shep and go after Samantha but custom make Shepherd to look just like Samantha you will get a Shower Scene and a bed scene before the final push ! 😅
There should be a secret scene unlocked by breaking off romances with every available romance option. A scene where the crew mates stage an intervention for Shepard.

Technically you can exp both, after suicide mission end it one and then go to the other. However it completely voids the first romance so in ME3 it’s like it never happened.

This is an understandable outcome. However, I can't help but wish they'd gone the Geralt+Triss+Yennefer route. You know, where it seems like you're going to successfully snag them both, only for them to unite against you. It'd be hilarious to see Jack and Miranda resolve their differences in the interest of kicking Shepard's ass.
Im so mad about Jack in ME3... shes my favorite romance, Tali is probably the best one. But Jack is just... Jack. And then you barely see her in the game. Angers me every playthrough. She is the type of woman i always fall for irl 😂 minus the harsh and badass loyalty
With the shadow broker dlc you can romance liara in all 3 games, and still romance someone in mass effect 2. Then in mass effect 3 it doesn’t negatively effect you. You still have the romance options in 3.
Approve of this as they are my favorites for romance options. But they definitely wrote the stories to reflect the animosity/friendships that develop out of that square. If you romance Tali - Jack gets Tali a tattoo because "Shepard will find it hot". Obviously Miranda and Jacks fight is already there. The fact that it only initiates after gaining loyalty from both Jack and Miranda is pretty telling. Tali is genuinely jealous of Miranda even if you romance only Tali. I was still picking up on vibes between Miranda and Shep in ME3 even though I never initiated romance with Miranda on that playthrough of ME2. Jack not so much. If you don't romance Jack - she becomes almost like a wingman for Tali's romance of Shep. Its cute.
Well I'm on my first playthrough on ME 2, I had a relationship with Miranda. From my second to now playthrough, my relationship is with Jack. Now i'm currently replaying Mass Effect 2, this time on Insanity difficulty and I just chose Miranda. I already played Mass Effect 3 by staying in a relationship with Jack. Now, I just started to replay ME 2 on Insanity and I chose to be with Miranda and then I'll carry it over to ME 3.
Hey, Big Dan... here's an idea... In the Citadel DLC, during most encounters with multiple NPCs present, one will throw a dialogue line, usually funny. The character is definitely not 'random' but somehow decided as 'who your favorite is'. How do they elect that?
Hehe, I am a little too straight and single for a devoted male Shepard run so I always romance everyone. A bit awkward when the one who I've locked in then dies during Suicide Mission (yeah, Jack died. Oops) but when that happened Tali was game just like that. Picked Tali so I could keep her from Garrus. It's a whole thing. My female Shepard is devoted to Garrus above all 😊

The old 'in and out' can be done with Jack without commitments. Of course, it's down in the engine room against a wall. It doesn't interfere with any other romance. I managed to 'do' Miri and Liara also. My preferred partner is Liara. When an Asari biotic says she loves you, that ain't fooling around. "I'm forever yours.", was a hell of a goodbye.
Imo nothing really happens. In others opinion they bring it up in conversation and on one maybe two missions if you have both of them in a square they give each other sideway looks and sound a bit jealous. Now if one is on the normandy and the other one isn't. Basically nothing happen besides them asking if you want to be together again and that happens if you romanced two ppl or just one, the dialogue is the same.

Same here. There's very few deviation on my Trilogy playthrough. Later on I realized there's a term "paragade" that perfectly applies to my playstyle.

I noticed that if you had gotten all romance options to a certain point you could complete a romance, dump them, then go to the next. What was weird was the other characters never acknowledged this out side the dialogue when you dump them. I never tried it again, especially since I now prefer a specific play through and romance, so can’t confirm you can still do that.

Yeah two stubborn and independent biotic babes, this can't end well! I prefer to pair Jack and Miranda together so I leave them alone. That said I wish I could make it clear in these conversation trees when I don't intend them to be romantic and I want to strike up a friendship even if they're compatible as a romance. Why can't male Shepard just be a mentor for both of them? Jack needs to learn to rely on other people more and Miranda needs her confidence boosted. It's the same thing with femshep and her male romance options. I'd like to be able to learn more about the Drell from an in character stand point. And because I mostly play paragon characters I feel Shepard would want to spend time with Thane since he's dying. I don't want him to misconstrue that with Femshep wanting a romance with him. I don't think a seperate "we're buds and I'm the leader so I want to make sure you're the best you can be" conversation tree is too much to ask.
I am sad at the lack of confrontation. I wanted to see that scene like in 1 but it be an utter fustercluck with you getting biotically slapped across the room twice if you suggest to keep both

Trying to romance Jack and Miranda at the same time sounds like an easy way to be torn apart with biotic powers
I want to share a personal experience as a warning. If you romance Miranda in ME2, but dump her in ME3, she dies at the end of the Sanctuary mission. I did everything right *except* for that - and it was disappointing. No matter what options I chose in her final scene, it had the same result. Jack doesn't have that outcome, but Miranda's death is particularly upsetting.

I had a scenario in one of my playthroughs where you sleep with Jack (not a romance and doesn’t result in the romance scene ) and then still romanced Miranda. Jack approaches you in the mass effect 3 mission as if you had romanced her. Interesting stuff

I played as Fem Shepard which was really disappointing because I found both Jack and Miranda interesting characters, and you can’t establish love interest with them as a female (even though you can work all the way up to the commitment conversation, flirtation and all, and be turned away. Something I didn’t know about playing through the first time 🙃)
I settled for some lesbian action with Kelly before getting some alien love action with Garrus. He’s not much in the looks department but he did bring me wine
Mass 3 play Female Shep and go after Samantha but custom make Shepherd to look just like Samantha you will get a Shower Scene and a bed scene before the final push ! 😅

Technically you can exp both, after suicide mission end it one and then go to the other. However it completely voids the first romance so in ME3 it’s like it never happened.

This is an understandable outcome. However, I can't help but wish they'd gone the Geralt+Triss+Yennefer route. You know, where it seems like you're going to successfully snag them both, only for them to unite against you. With the shadow broker dlc you can romance liara in all 3 games, and still romance someone in mass effect 2. Then in mass effect 3 it doesn’t negatively effect you. You still have the romance options in 3.

Approve of this as they are my favorites for romance options. But they definitely wrote the stories to reflect the animosity/friendships that develop out of that square. If you romance Tali - Jack gets Tali a tattoo because "Shepard will find it hot". Obviously Miranda and Jacks fight is already there. The fact that it only initiates after gaining loyalty from both Jack and Miranda is pretty telling. Tali is genuinely jealous of Miranda even if you romance only Tali. I was still picking up on vibes between Miranda and Shep in ME3 even though I never initiated romance with Miranda on that playthrough of ME2. Jack not so much. If you don't romance Jack - she becomes almost like a wingman for Tali's romance of Shep. Its cute.

Well I'm on my first playthrough on ME 2, I had a relationship with Miranda. From my second to now playthrough, my relationship is with Jack. Now i'm currently replaying Mass Effect 2, this time on Insanity difficulty and I just chose Miranda. I already played Mass Effect 3 by staying in a relationship with Jack. Now, I just started to replay ME 2 on Insanity and I chose to be with Miranda and then I'll carry it over to ME 3.

A bit awkward when the one who I've locked in then dies during Suicide Mission (yeah, Jack died. Oops) but when that happened Tali was game just like that. Picked Tali so I could keep her from Garrus. It's a whole thing. My female Shepard is devoted to Garrus above all 😊

Both romances are awesome, personally i prefer the cheerleader Miranda but when romancing Jack you touch her heart and its sweet. She deserves to be loved.
The old 'in and out' can be done with Jack without commitments. Of course, it's down in the engine room against a wall. It doesn't interfere with any other romance. I managed to 'do' Miri and Liara also. My preferred partner is Liara. When an Asari biotic says she loves you, that ain't fooling around. "I'm forever yours.", was a hell of a goodbye.

Imo nothing really happens. In others opinion they bring it up in conversation and on one maybe two missions if you have both of them in a square they give each other sideway looks and sound a bit jealous. Now if one is on the normandy and the other one isn't. Basically nothing happen besides them asking if you want to be together again and that happens if you romanced two ppl or just one, the dialogue is the same.
Other than a "not so subtle" series of conversations between Ashley and Tali during the Geth Dreadnought, not much outside Citidel.
I feel like after watching this, Miranda is the best option due to the fact at least I might survive the giant love limbo....with Jack, no so much 💀
