I've been out for this weekend (~50 miles hike through Bory Tucholskie National Park), and I must confess I was trying to cook my food on wood first time this year. It was a mess in many ways, and I was missing a dependable alcohol stove badly. I'm often experimenting with other ideas (like Cat-ion put inside Esbit folding stove to make wood, resin and alcohol stove/potstand combo), though Multifuel and Low Rider are still the best designs for me to fiddle with. Being sure I can buy proper fuel in almost any small shop is a big thing, as it simply takes one trouble completely out of equation: I can easily make a hot meal anytime, anywhere. I think I should film those things from time to time, but I still haven't got a proper camera. Thanks! Cheers!
Jon Do a video on the USGI version which I love! I have used Esbit, 70%-91% isopropyl, Heet in yellow bottle, denatured Alcohol and Sterno in it. All works! Haven't tried hand sanitizer yet but should do fine if the others work. Bring a titanium version of both USGI and now the Multifuel!
Angry Daddy Bird I already have the raw materials. The Multi-Fuel stove (Iso-Clean) is not a popular stove so making one out of titanium does not make sense at this time.
After 41 years of using fuel tablet stoves almost exclusively, this stove was almost enough for me to retire my 20 solid fuel stoves and switch to alcohol. In fact, if it was titanium I would have switched.
Tim, I did not look at the efficiency of any of the fuel other than Iso & DA. I am sure that the Epicurean is more efficient. The Muti-Fuel is being branded as the the stove you can take anywhere in the world and you will be able to find a fuel that will burn in it.

Did you get any soot on your pan using Esbit?
Almost all Esbit stoves generate soot. The Epicurean in simmer mode does not create soot.
Hi Jon, will there be a titanium version of this sweet stove anytime soon ?, macman
mac man If there is enough demand, I might make a titanium version - Jon
Please consider my order placed Jon , hope others do likewise and create a demand , mac
What titanium cup would be able to make a iso-clean?

is there any benefit in mixing denatured alcohol and isopropyl alcohol in the winter months with wx below freezing?
while isopropyl has a higher energy density, the burn rate is slower. For sub-zero temperatures, you would be better off with denatured alcohol.

You can light the esbit faster by dripping a couple drops of methanol on the tablet and it will ignite ultrafast.
Hey Jon, what's the performance like with esbit? Does it come close to the epicurean?

This world is FULL of things that don't make any sense , how cool to have one made of Titanium 🐯
