The sliding D chord is my favorite chord of all time., especially going from C up to D. Fantastic arrangement. Andy Irvine, voice squad and now Lindsey Straw
My, this is a beautiful and simple rendition. Not to take away from your singing and playing, both of which were superb, but this performance is exactly what this songs needs. No more, no less. Humble and unadorned and so very honest. I love it.
The patience you develop from start to finish - Holy Smokes. Zoned-in performance. I can only imagine what a cedar top would sound like with everything else being the same.
Wow!!! I found your version of one of my all time favourite folk ballad! And you really nailed it with your version! You are amazing, really love your voice!
Very sensitive and quiet expression of this song about Ireland under English domination. I first heard this song on Planxty's 2nd Album (sung by Andy Irvine?). It took me a while to realize that the narrator left his true love (much like Kathleen Ni Houlihan, the spirit of Ireland), and ends up in the pay of England's overseas army.
Just received this very mic from @eartrumpetlabs having seen it in your videos. Looking forward to putting it through its paces. Great performance as always Lindsay.
First and foremost, a great ballad that I’m not familiar with. You absolutely slay it - instrumentally and vocally. I just can’t get over how good your sonics are with a single mic. Holy schemoly. No dual sm condensers in your guitar AND a dedicated voice mic. That Louise is really capturing the beautiful texture of both your voice and the great guitar. With one mic? Any processing? Astounding. ❤
None! My goal with these is to be as simple and clean as possible, both because I prefer a natural acoustic sound but also because I'm lazy and know if I had to fix things in post all the time, I would never get anything done!
You really are showing a great alt path for the rest of us natural acoustic fans. I tend to use my Aer acoustic amp to tweak my Martin’s (HD-35) and Gibson’s (J-45) sound but you have me wondering if a simpler path and purer sound is possible? Thanks!
@@k2thepeak Those are both great guitars that'll definitely stand on their own with the right mic, but there's certainly nothing wrong with trying other things out and getting different sounds :)
In my regular wedding performance days I had some unexpected requests like Foo Fighters' "Everlong," but I can't say I've kept those in hand! And yeah, a couple Swift numbers but you will not hear me do those by choice 😅

A beautiful tune and lovely performance.

I didn't know Dr. Allison Cameron has a beautiful voice. Subbed btw. Glad YT recommended this.

Awesome, what’s one song that we’d be surprised you play? Taylor Swift? Eminem? 😂
You should throw in a wild card every now and then for fun
