    Good job my friends. And nicely done. I think you figured out my secret - I keep adding beds so I have somewhere to bury all my yard debris. Growing food in them is just an afterthought. ;-)

    Whoa!! Another video I need to hide from my wife!! That looked like some well thought out precision work right there!! Love the use of sticks & logs to fill in & compost for years to come!! Awesome video!!🪱🪱🪱

      😂 The battery died on my GoPro, but after we had it built there was a wheel barrow full of sand and 4 of compost we added to the top. I’m going to order some cover crop seeds, and add that to the garden area. So he will be ready to rock come next season.

      @@Vermicompost what size is your current raised bed? The first one we made was 4’x16’ it was 32 cinder blocks per level, so for his it was 64.

      Thanks Angel, this is my brothers in Virginia he has just shy of one acre. It’s very big in comparison to my house on around 1/4 acre. This was over 2 hours 20 minutes recorded time. I think he will like all the extra space.

    great garden idea. good way to have a great soil base and it will probably be warmer than the ground after a sunny day too which is great as well

      Definitely Greg! In Delaware I’m zone 7a, this is at my brothers he is in USDA zone 8a. He getting warmer about two weeks before me and frost about two weeks after me. I figure the raised beds give him around an extra 3-4 weeks of productive time.

    Wow! That sure was a lot of hard work, and looks well worth the effort! The first song had me wanting to jump in and start digging up grass too. Great tunes! That's a nice huge yard! We're lucky to get any yard at all here in SoCal. Great job on the raised beds & time-lapse video! 👏

      Good question, this is Bermuda grass it is a very difficult grass. It has stolons and rhizomes so this grass spreads very easily and can take over the garden bed.

      Thank you, hardest part was leveling, I was telling him before we started that we were going up hill slightly. So we will need to dig out more material to level. 😁

    Oh my! What a big project! I am so jealous of your full sun exposure. Btw, you can also start beds using no dig. Here’s a Charles Dowding video on it: ruclips.net/video/IC6OBOyQ0mY/видео.html

    • @GardeningwithBarchuckin
      @GardeningwithBarchuckin  2 года назад +1

      Yup, I’ve watched Charles Dowding before. Thanks for the link. He definitely does not have Bermuda grass. Super evil grass. Uses stolons and rhizomes to grow. It only grows during the warm season June/September but it tries to out compete with everything.

      Sounds like a tough grass to eradicate, Rick!
