10/16/2024 Worm Wednesday Feeding Natural Bedding Bin
This feeding is after 3 weeks. The bedding in the feeding area still looks good and the moisture level is high. Today’s feeding is pulp from the juicer. I added pulverized azomite and ground eggshells for the red wigglers to use as grit. Then I put some worm chow over top of the feeding area.

I haven’t washed my eggshells before. I guess you could if you wanted to. If using hard boiled eggs that would probably be the best. I typically put 4 cracked eggshells into the microwave and put it on between 1:30-1:45 ( yours may vary depending on wattage and age of microwave) once I collect a few weeks worth I blend them either in a magic bullet or large blender. Thanks Matthew, I’m hoping it does a good job. I will try to show where I plant the vegetables and when I need to dig it out for winter. 😁

Hey Rick! What might be interesting, would be to see how quickly the worms go through a feeding of just pulp from the juicer. I bet with the worm population you have in there it would be gone in 4 or 5 days.
