I didn't want to hear this song. The melancholy in it was stirring dark shadows in me. But I listened. It's irresistible in a haunting way. I felt a funeral procession in my mind. This is beyond just music.
This song helped me get through a very hard dark time. Whenever I'm heartbroken this dark song comfort me and saying I was blind and it was like this before. She had to go. This song makes you a better person I heard from a persons opinion on the interpretation on the internet. I loved his respond on the song.
i'm tearing up.. i have chills all over. this is one of the most beautifully haunting pieces of music i've ever heard in my life. coupled with that amazing, deep, rich contralto voice of hers.. ♥ she's so inspiring to me, especially as an alto singer myself. i can only hope to sound half as good as her someday. wow. :D
He came your way, and when he had to go There were roses growing in the snow Silently, you'll go through the shadow of your soul And you know that it was like this before we had to go You will never see these lights Glowing in your nights Until you feel this way With every moon It is as though you're getting closer to your soul And then you'll go alone, and with no fear Then you will know that it was like this before he had to go And you will find that you were blind Until you saw these lights Glowing in your nights He came your way, and when he had to go There were roses growing in the snow Silently you'll go through the shadow of your soul But you know that it was like this before he had to go You will never see these lights Glowing in your nights If you don't know And there are roses growing in the snow
To be fair, Siouxsie is way more fierce and aggressive, whilst Nico is the ultimate ice queen. But in terms if creativity - a big yes, both are uncompromisingly honest about their feelings to listeners. I can only imagine how big Nico would be if she started in 90's or 00's, when people stopped caring about flat notes and lackluster instrumental skills in favour of emotions.
I can just picture my mind that the world is filled with snow and I still snowing quite a bit hard and the world is apocalyptical and the sky is deep dark red staying night time forever and walking in the cold freezing and the world is basically in hell. Quite haunting scary
Jim Morrison and Nico are gods of scary dark music. Though only The End is one haunting scary song I know by The Doors. Without those two. The gothic genre wouldn't come next to exist. The ones that are considered Goth are ones likes Christian Death, Bauhaus, Sisters Of Mercy, and The Cure. I'm not really a Goth fan anymore because I don't find it scary. Except for Bauhaus which is really the only gothic band I truly love. Nico is the real deal when it comes to actual scary music. Nico's trilogy albums of 2, 3, and 4 totally remind me of my favourite early dark ambient genre music along with some really scary classic old horror movie that is so scary.
Its unbelievable how ahead of its time this album was
truht
I'm pretty sure this wasn't actually on the original album though, but it was recorded at the time I believe. 🤓

That's incredibly sad and macabre.
But in the mean time, incredibly beautiful.
A masterpiece 🖤

Schönstes Gothic...
Too easy to love this! Passion!
Great stuff. Plain Songs for the 20th and 21st Century.
He came your way, and when he had to go
There were roses growing in the snow
Silently, you'll go through the shadow of your soul
And you know that it was like this before we had to go
You will never see these lights
Glowing in your nights
Until you feel this way
With every moon
It is as though you're getting closer to your soul
And then you'll go alone, and with no fear
Then you will know that it was like this before he had to go
And you will find that you were blind
Until you saw these lights
Glowing in your nights
He came your way, and when he had to go
There were roses growing in the snow
Silently you'll go through the shadow of your soul
But you know that it was like this before he had to go
You will never see these lights
Glowing in your nights
If you don't know
And there are roses growing in the snow
Wondrous song and voice
well, very special atmosphere
beautiful!
pity She had to go...for Her roses grow in the snow ...in the shadow of Your soul
Her best song
Not that hard to imagine where Siouxsie Sioux from Siouxsie and the banshees got her inspiration from.

Perfect Halloween song

las rosas en la nieve se ven igual de hermosas que la sangre sobre la nieve

Quite haunting scary
Is the backing track for this exactly the same as Lawns of Dawn?
nico songs they never play on the radio
The Glamazon Club And, that’s how I missed it.
Kate Bush's dangerous auntie ....
in the snow with rose buds and king of the mountain- wonder if this lyric was inspired by this song
🖤
I wrote a poem like this years ago except I used branches.
Johnicale .
It is clear that she never got over her baby daddy. So tragic. Nico deserved so much more.
Susan Matz You mean Alain Delon. Thats true.
I think that's for Morrison, not sure though.
Jim Morrison
годнота
Terry Riley is there painted in crystal
very Sylvia Plath …. she took over where Jim Morrison left off

Nico does a wonderful version of The End. 🖤
wonderful.desertshore period?
Just before, Marble index period
Robert Ommundsen it's a Marble Index bonus track so I'd say it's closer to Marble Index.
around 1:30 I'm seriously dying
piribolygo yes I love that
This song, if it was reworked obviously, could be a great pop song. It has all the elements
Now why on earth would you want to do that
LOL. You're funny.
At least I HOPE you're being sarcastic.
Niemals....
The original, original... Lana del rey is a carbon copy of the great nico! Love them both lol
aslan1246 I'm a fan of both but I don't think they have many things in common...actually, they have almost no common traits.
Bad comparison. Worlds apart. They both have their own sound.
This comparison was the last thing I wanted to hear..
