Ethan Hardy - I want to say my sincere thanks to you for helping me get the Globalist status. I wouldn't have done this, if I haven't seen this. Your content is absolutely amazing and very helpful for novice. Keep up the good work. All the best.
Just wanted to clarify that you can book MGM nights directly through the MGM app and as long as front desk has your Hyatt number on file, you will get those night credits, + with MGM Gold you will get the resort fee waived 👍🏽💎 Great work on this one bro! The exact best ways to execute!
**Mistake in Video** You can book directly though MGM with Cash and still receive the hyatt qualifying nights/points. See the article below: thepointsguy.com/news/hyatt-mgm-elite-nights-las-vegas/ Thank you to VINCEskillz for pointing this out. Due to the time contraints associated with this offer, I am unable to reupload the video with this correction. This would be the way to go if you have mgm status since you can get the resort fee waived no questions asked. MAKE SURE to add your WoH number to the reservation if you go this route.
In the bonus terms, it states "Plus, World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers can earn an additional 500 Bonus Points when those nights are at participating hotels in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Hong Kong, London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, or Washington, D.C." And these hotels seems to be category 6 or higher, so likely won't be able to net the full 3500 pts for mattress runs, just the 3000
In the Bonus Journeys terms, it states you'll receive the 3k points "Beginning on your second eligible stay." Later in the terms, it states "consecutive nights at the same hotel constitute one stay." Based on this, does the first stay during the promotion period need to be 2 nights, or will the suggested 1-night dummy booking count as a stay? I'll probably do the 1-night dummy booking either way. Thanks for the video!
Good catch… Very strange language in the terms here. I think the language here is more trying to clarify that regardless of how long the stay is, it only counts as one stay. So a stay of X consecutive nights is always 1 stay no matter if its 3 nights or 10 nights. It really wouldn’t make sense for them to make a “stay” considered 2 or more nights when they have never previously made that the case and this would be a very sly way of calling it out… i think one night will work.
I did the same location and number of days, it's a pretty sketchy location. They refused to check us in digitally so we had a 3 hour round trip check in drive.
@KailuaKid619 So i just realized you can not do 2 rooms at the same time! Woops! 30k points down the drain. But we did do mobile check in this time and they put it through. Never had to go to the property
Thanks Ethan for the helpful info and spreadsheet. Im new to hyatt; I signed up for both promo. Now the question is where to do a mattress run in phoenix!
So i have a question. I'm going to book a hyatt hotel near me for 3. me as the main account holder will check in with them phiscally but wont stay with them. Is that a problem?
As I'm booking this trip for myself their website specifically says the resort fee will be waived at the desk. So you might be able to do that, but you might also get stuck paying the resort fees. I'll ask the desk when I go the beginning of May!
This is good stuff. The only bummer is that the 500 points back (extra) with a Hyatt card is that you have to do it in select markets -- Dallas, Washington DC, etc. I don't live near any of them. :(
Awesome video, quick question. Can I book in a friends name but still use my account for them to check in? There are no hotels in Washington that are category 1.
I think that depends on you. how much do u value ur points? 150k to me is a lot @ my personal target of 2cents per point thats $3,000 value so for globalist for 1 1/2 years idk if thats worth it. I think attaining explorist at 10 nights would be worth it tho.
Would this also work if you did 2 identical bookings of 10 nights each? For example, a room for yourself and another room for friends on the same trip?
Journey promo only applies to 2nd or later “stay”, so that means need to book 2 hotels, e.g., one night at Hotel A, and 10 nights at Hotel B for the Explorist, as the terms says consecutive nights at the same hotel are considered one “stay”? “For the purposes of this promotion and bonus offer, consecutive nights at the same hotel constitute one stay (even if you check out and check back in). “
I thought this at first too, but the key word there is “consecutive.” So if you stay at the same hotel twice its fine it just can’t be consecutive. They are basically trying to say you cant have a seven night stay and check out/re-check in after the first night and have it count as a separate stay. Or at least that’s my interpretation, always hate the non-specific language.
@@ej.finance yeah hate this clause. Would be inconvenient to leave a hotel and come back another date in practice. Think they are trying to filter out those that are staying anyways without promo.
For the Journeys second stay, the first stay can be any time within the promotion period right? E.g. i can book one night on April 17, and then 19 nights starting May 1st?
Would my stay count towards either bonus journey or Hyatt challenge? I made a reservation to stay at all inclusive in Jan but my stay is from 4/19 for 5 nights. I have registered for both programs on time.
so I found some off peak in May for 3,500 points. I’m trying to book them now but it’s reverting back to the 6,500 original price. Do I have to wait closer to the date?
@@ej.finance no problem. I just wanted to clarify as I am leaning towards that route. I have a bunch of stays planned. I know for those reading this comment. Make sure to tell the front desk to attach your world of Hyatt number to the booking. Awesome video!
Hey Ethan, I have a reservation for the Excalibur from April 16th-April 22nd. Since the stay starts before the 17th but the other nights are after, will any those nights count towards the Bilt status match? The terms are kinda unclear about this (to me)
You have to start the check in on the 17th, so those nights won't count if you checkin on the 16th. I would rebook and do 2 stays! 1 night for 16th, then the rest from 17-22
No, I meant you get 2 qualifying nights for every $5k spent on the card. These nights wouldn’t count towards the 20. You can still do the booking with the credit card.
Hi Ethan. If I redeem my free Hyatt anniversary night (not points, not money) within the period, would this count toward the challenge? Another question: I book 2 or 3 rooms (for my adult children, family) for same hotel during same stay; only my room will qualify/count toward the challenge (not other rooms)? Thanks
Someone know if I reserve nights for another person and i reserve at the same hotel or other property but same nights count nights stays on the account?
I have explorist status from having the card and have 5 nights already from having explorist. those nights count towards globalist? Or I would only need 15 nights?
We're going to a grand hyatt for 9 nights at the end of June, if i have an additional 20 stays complete a week before the grand hyatt stay, but before the end of the status challenge promotion will i have globalist status during the 9 night stay?
We got screwed: " The offer will provide the member with the benefits of Globalist membership, provided that the member will not receive Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards, a Category 1-7 Free Night Award or My Hyatt Concierge (as defined in the World of Hyatt program terms). " WHATS THE POINT THEN ?!?!
Think you’re interpreting it wrong. Its talking about not receiving the milestone awards you would normally get for staying 60 nights (the standard requirement for globalists).
So with the first dummy stay, would we technically be spending like 38,500 points instead of the 35,000 for the additional stay or is it that we do a 1-night stay and then a 19-night stay instead?
No, they have language protecting against this. If you have consecutive nights at the same property it is one stay regardless of how often you check in/out or if they are separate bookings.
Hello, If I book a hotel for my family and I am not present during their check-in because I am not traveling with them, will I still earn points and qualify for a 20-night stay? Thanks
I'm so pissed I already have a 4 night stay booked but it's before the promotion starts but I might still go for explorist so I can also get mgm gold status
Wouldn't it be cheaper to get Global Status with Wyndham matching across Caesar rewards to MGM than to World of Hyatt. The you round robin Hyatt and MGM to keep your status every year.
In the terms and conditions. They will match once you earn the full status through ten stays. But won’t off the temporary status. That being said, the online matching tool won’t work but you may have a chance of someone pushing it through manually in person in Vegas.
When the Bilt x Hyatt status challenge kicks in to the base Explorist status for Hyatt, can I status match that with MGM Gold in that time frame (Apr 17 - Jun 30) I got a trip planned to Vegas in June and wanted to see if I could get benefits from MGM.
Nope you can’t match off of a temporary status unfortunately. At least not online. You can try in person to match and you may have a chance then but per the terms and conditions you’re not supposed to be able to.
Can you clarify the dummy booking? Is it required regardless of point or cash bookings? Or Only if it’s a cash booking? Ie: first night should be points on a reservation, then start a new reservation for the other 19 nights?
You must be on at least your second stay during the promotional period for the 3000/3500 points back every two nights. I was suggesting you make a “throw away stay” before your long stay to ensure your long stay is giving you these extra points. If your long stay is your first stay during the promotional period you won’t get the bonus points. It doesn’t matter how this throw away stay is set up, cash, points etc.
@@ej.finance gotcha so make a 1 night stay on 1 reservation, check out next day and check into the new longer stay, correct? Additionally, I assume I need a dummy stay each time. For example, if I 1 night + 4 nights. Then do 1 night + 9 nights. Then do 1 night + 4 nights. Each of the “1 nights” are the dummy stays on separate reservations?
You are eligible for suite upgrades upon check-in like any other globalist. I know what you mean is you don’t receive the milestone awards but I’m clarifying for others who may read this. The milestone awards are completely separate from your status, but you would normally earn them all on the process of staying 60 nights to become globalist.
