    *"Is this a bad time to talk?"*
    *Only ask questions calibrated to solicit a "no" agreement, especially in the afternoon or when the person maybe tired.*
    *"Is it a ridiculous idea if...?"*
    *"Are you against...?"*
    *"How am I supposed to do that?"*
    *"Have you given up on....?"*

    1. Is now a bad time to talk ? Instead of have you got a few minutes to talk.
    2. Is this a ridiculous idea if ……
    3. Are you against (paying for them now )
    4. Have you given up on ? The most effective restarted for ghosters
    5. How am I supposed to that ?
    6. You’re offer is very generous, I’m afraid it just doesn’t work for me
    7. How are you is a temperature check ? You respond it sounds, like you have a place to start
    8. When someone asks a question , what makes you ask ? Upward reflection.
    9. Seems like you have a good reason for not doing that (when people are failing to perform )
    10.

    *Although I prefer "Is this a bad time to talk" more now, for almost two decades I had formed my own habit of saying, "Should I call back at a better time?"*
    *Dare I say I rarely heard, "yes, call back later", but when I did, an appointment was set. Thus, I believe I may have stumbled across the same psychology with similar success. Ultimately I prefer his line now.*

    • @AlSwearengen4
      @AlSwearengen4 2 месяца назад +1

      I've got Asperger's too. They're not games. They're concepts which account for the perspective/interest of people you're dealing with. They become second nature and have served me better, in many cases, than my default modes of thinking and communicating.

    • @sandwichgroper
      @sandwichgroper 19 дней назад

      I don’t have Asperger’s diagnosis but I feel the same way about this as you. However, it helps to know what kind of mind games these sorts of people will try to play, so you can more easily recognise what they are trying to do.
      This may or may not be a coincidence, but I find that the ‘unlikely’ responses this guy identifies are exactly what I would say (and do say) in these situations anyway. Eg: ‘Is this a bad time to talk?’ ‘Yes’
      I don’t care if people think something is a ridiculous idea, or whatever. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is. I never check my email anyway because I don’t like getting emails. YES, it’s a bad time of day.

Here is the way I look at it. You are lucky to get me to do the work at any price. You try to negotiate with me and I see it as wasting my time.

    Has some good stuff (if used sincerely), albeit fairly well known and generic. But I always have to laugh at communications experts that come across as arrogant A/holes who think the world of themselves. Particularly ones who are apparently so in demand and busy that they have time to peddle their kernels of wisdom endlessly online as an attempt to get sign ups into their courses.

      - **ELF:** Easy, Lucrative, and Fun. This refers to identifying negotiation opportunities that are straightforward, profitable, and enjoyable. It encourages negotiators to seek out deals that will bring substantial benefits without excessive effort or stress.
      - **HALf:** Hard, Annoying, and Lame. This denotes deals or negotiations that are difficult, frustrating, and not worth the trouble. It suggests that negotiators should avoid these types of engagements as they are less likely to result in satisfactory outcomes.
      By using these frameworks, negotiators can prioritize their efforts on opportunities that are more likely to yield positive results while minimizing the time and energy spent on less promising negotiations.

    Chris,
    Many of your psychological “tricks” can come off as manipulative & sleazy to most people.
    But you teach it within ethical & genuine guardrails; and you show that it can be used “with” your partners rather than “against.”
    You also emphasize the use of these techniques are to *reveal* where our shortcomings are; they’re not standalone solutions

    • @thunderbirdizations
