    I was in Rosine, Ky. last week, sept.13,2011, on Jerusalem Ridge, Rosine, Ky. for Bills 100 birthday party. Had a cake that resembled a mandolin.Great time was had.RIP, Mr. Monroe. You done Ky proud.......Ya'll.

    This is the Bluegrass I knew in Bath County Virginia when I was growing up and Bill Monroe was the boy to follow. Wonderful No?

    Played way faster than Bill Monroe could handle at this time, so he simplified his solos a great deal, sometimes playing a single note repetitively rather than the full run. Then he just played a chord for a while. Monroe was extraordinary, but he did slow down over the years.

    I bought this CD in 1992 and wore it out. I played bluegrass 7 days a week. Now I play death metal 7 days a week. Go figure. I still have my F5 mandolin.

      That’s awesome! I’m the opposite, I played metal when I was younger. Had the opportunity to get a Weber F14 and took up bluegrass.
