It helps keep the algae out. Plus they are inexpensive 👍🏽

Smart set up! With nutrients, banana skins soaked in water, you already know all types of nutrients already😅 I’m curious to see these in a few weeks. Do you still have your plants that you put the sardines in?

Thanks. No. I’ve already harvested all of them. I plan on doing several different experiments growing the same item different ways to see which method works best this upcoming growing season 👍🏽

Great job, Zo. I'm thinkin Zo is about to be done with soil 😂. General hydroponics is good stuff. Not fancy cause it doesn't need to be. Just quality and simple.

🤣 you just might be right. I was thinking earlier how I can set up the system outside without rain water getting into the containers. I plan on doing several different growing methods this upcoming season 👍🏽

As of now I can’t tell a difference. Once they start blooming more and producing more maybe I will see a change. I’ll keep you posted 👍🏽

you could install aquarium bubblers in each bucket to improve oxygenation. Also, you will run out of space..you will have to support your plants somehow when they get larger..

Thanks. I prefer the Kratky method over the others. Using his method there’s no need for the aquarium bubbler. I know that method works well but that’s a different type of hydroponics. I use pipe insulation or a pool noodle to support the bigger plants. I just cut long pieces and wrap it around the base and place I it inside the lid. As of now it’s working out great for a few of my bigger plants 👍🏽

Been watching you for about a year and am impressed with your gardening style. My wife and I have a medium sized container garden and are looking for ways to expand and extend our gardening.😊

I grow all my plants from seeds. I purchased a pack of mixed pepper seeds from I believe it was Lowes last season

@ Thank you for the support. I’m a big fan of container gardening. When I lived down south I could start my seedlings 🌱 early. It will be a little challenging now that I’m in Illinois. I’m planning a massive garden this season. All containers. Grow bags, buckets etc…
If you would like a mixed pepper plant I do have one I can transplant into soil and send it to you if you are interested.
