That last rally was so funny lolll
I think it was awful
@@nstarkd9951 it was truly lame
juniors tactics
They were trying to lob each other with the topspin bounce 😂 Moonballers of the world unite!
It was boring, just like the whole match
No more tsidosa,just tennis
She play better after break up 😃😃
Concentrating fully on the game
@@edisonsubandi7231He too
@@edisonsubandi7231 I agree. 👍
Did she quit with Tsitsipas?😢
I have not seen Paula love so well in a looooooooooong time. Quick, hitting well, responding well, and aggressive.
I have said it before and I will say it again: If Paula can stay healthy and get on a roll, she can win a major. She's a marvelous player! Great instincts. Stay fit, Paula! As for those of us in the Mirra Cult, we will just have to bide our time. She still seems to advance with every match. Nice highlights!
Nothing ugly about an occasional moonball rally. It takes skill to handle those shots and strategy to figure out how to win the point.
except neither figured it out, they just made an error on another moon ball attempt
I'm glad moon balls are rarely used.
Excatly. Only non-tennisplayers are laughing at that.
Agreed. Those rallies might not be the most exciting tennis to watch, but some people don’t realize how difficult high balls are to return, especially with your backhand on clay. And sometimes your only way to return a high ball is to hit another high ball
The commentator's "fascinating final rally"🤣 Its so "special" that the full minute of it was shown, without editing.
The last rally was an homage to women's tennis in the 80s, early 90s.
Reminds me of French Open final Lendl vs Wilander :)
Moonballers
Early 90s? Seles would literally not let the ball bounce and smack it cross court for the winner.
@@jamesyu5212 Sanchez Vicario and Sabatini were prime suspects
Andreyeva got all the highlights.
Badosa got all the games.
Me dying at the last point 😂 reminds me of the annoying pusher points I play
If it works it works 😂
The ghost of Andrea Jaeger took over the last moments of match play!
Queen of the moonball!
@Sabior19no, she tried to stay in the lost match at any costs
I think that was the worst match point I've ever seen... haha... Other than that, well done Paula!!!
They were playing badminton!
Moon ball fest
It's very difficult to do anything with deep high-bouncing balls. Only way to break the pattern is step into the court and try to hit an overhead, but that's very risky.
Paula looks confident and solid with her mobility and movement on the court, undoubtedly making us a gorgeous impression with her presence. Particularly, she looks more vibrant and vigorous by beginning a new period. I just wanted to state this issue implicitly.
Paula Badosa played so well today, hopefully she stays fit!
Great game. Good to see Badosa playing well, great footwork!
Tsitsidosa done, and each other apart are playing better
he had to make space for sabalenka :)
I always thought their relationship wasn't meant for the long term. It's more of Badosa's rebound, she started dating Tsitsipas right after she broke up with her model ex-boyfriend.
@@sherry8339 She will out herself soon with Sabalenka.
@@keijimuto That'd be wild.
SMASHING JOB BADOSA!! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ I absolutely 💯 love 💕 your tenacity and grit! Keep up the great work and keep inspiring!
Paula suits clay. Glad to see her playing good once again.
it's a 1st round win lol
your profile pic is mean lol
yea but Mirra is no pushover either, she just had good wins over Vondrousova and Paolini last week
@@jkscout First round but Andreeva is a tough draw for 1R.
Some serious topspin in those forehands by Andreeva in the last rally, she almost sent Badosa right into the stands. Girl has a great hand and huge power for being 16, definitely Slam material in two or three years from now
3:45 could be the all time worst overhand slam of all time
Nice! Starting to winning matches after leaving Stephanos haha, Mirra is actually not an easy opponent, great win
The match to watch now is Badosa's next match, and if she can maintain this level.
Ahh, those junior tour’s moon balls 👀
Congz Badosa for your win, well played to young queen Mirra keep your feet strong .
The want to always win every point, set and match will drive Mirra.
That ultra lame overhead shot at the net by Andreeva at 0-2 0-40 in the 2nd set was unbelievably dumb to say the least.
I like the way Mirra tries new things on court, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't but I like her adventurous style of tennis. Some people here are making fun of it but wait till she is a little older and stronger and these established players will not have it so easy against her. I like the way she doesn't use full power on all shots and goes for placement and she tries the slice also. I'd like to see her volley a bit more like Muchova does but she is learning.
Guess the breakup was worth it
Andreeva still has a lot to improve, she needs a weapon to be able to fight back against hard hitter
The last high ball, high bounce rally was peculiar.
beautiful match
The last ralley showed how boring the relationship between Badosa and Tsitsipas in the end really was.
last rally was itf level... good win for Paula but as a former world no.2 to play like that...
I love her but she is probably the worst #2 ever. I do hope she can get back to that level and really prove herself. She needs a big run in a slam
@@michaelmilano2684, Kontaveit might be the worst no.2 ever... she never won a 1000 title, at least Paula won Indian Wells.. but yeah
Casuals
@@michaelmilano2684 worst ever. That's a bold statement. You can't hate on her for getting injured as soon as she reached #2. She has just been plagued with injuries. If she can stay injury free, I'm sure she could get back to the top.
Thanks to Andreeva. N.Badosa for quality tennis without much theatricals and grunting!! The other day Sabalenka and her opponent made the audio grunting go sky rocketing and undesirable!!
Wtf was that matchpoint?
do you think, badosa was having internal monologues of the like: "ill show this little brat!"? :)
Surely at the last Point 🤭
I think so !
Badosa needed a good win, glad she won here. She's very likable and a good athlete, hope she does well this tourney.
Please please, hear my, and many tennis fans' call: don't have this commentator call important tournaments. Please, I want to watch these matches with sound.
totally agree. She is terrible.
Andreeva is now realising that the top senior players are physically much stronger than her.
I think she is realizing that but what difference does it make?
She's totally aware and learning very fast imo
She seems smart enough
@@al1976-v7m I think it some times affects her confidence. She had several matches where she had a good start and eventually lost hope once she realized that the other player is much bigger and stronger. You can see it in her body language.
Clay
Yayyy, good to see Paula playing well again… Mirra could’ve been a tricky opponent but Paula handled her nicely! Hoping for her to stay fit and play some good tennis in the coming months… 😊
Are you kidding me with the moon balling? Last week Iga mentioned why we say women's tennis is boring. It's because of this crap among the high level tennis like Madrid open final
Can't remember lots of moon balling in women's tennis... Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill
The equivalent of moonballing in men's tennis is centerhitting, so is hitting the ball as hard as you can, but without purpose or intention, just to the very center of the court, and praying the opponent makes a mistake, and it is way more prevalent than moonballs are in women's tennis. I quited to follow men's tennis years ago because of those unsufferable long rallies between players who play not to lose the point, rather than trying to win it. Women's tennis is far more aggresive. Don't stand waiting for an Ostapenko in the ATP.
@@rafarequeni822 Ostapenko has 1 slam there is a reason or that - she has 0 patience
@@piesdescalzos27 Kerber, Wozniacki, Radwanska.... they all used to moonball their shots at times...
It's called tactics on clay. A Spanish speciality.
Andreeva and her moon balls are funny. You can tell she’s young and has a long ways to go. Good job Badosa
i don't know if "fascinating" is the word i'd use to describe it
Brutal last point there, thats why I love WTA!
They said Billy The Kid aka Tsitsipas played better since he doesn't have to sleep on the couch anymore...
I say Paula is playing better now without that millstone around her neck! 👍
Tough luck Mirra! Sit back and enjoy life until the next challenge comes along!
Last rally played on really high level... he he
3:30 Wow.
This match shows very well Andreeva's limitations. Mirra will always struggle with players who have strong forehands and very good backhands. Mirra's weakness is now well known among coaches: her forehand is just a rally shot from the baseline. It is often loopy and is usually just used as a defensive shot to reset the point, just like Coco's. Her forehand will always be attacked until she is out of position and her backhand wing is exposed. Smart players know it is not wise to direct the ball to her backhand when she is set because Mirra can hit winners to anywhere on the court with her backhand.
Great job, Badosa!
Congratulations to Paula! ❤
4:18 WTF is this? xD🤣
After the Bogdan-Fernandez match, this felt like slow motion.
Who is this overexcited commentator ?
wow topspin moonballing in the last minute there. I thought this happens in the amatuers only. I guess since its clay this is effective and strategic ? Although badosa got a short one and she didnt attack it, maybe they both getting tired at that point.. good match.
to everyone commenting about the last rally, it's called lobbing and it is perfectly fine to use that shot. if you play the ball deep and high it keeps you from getting attacked. it's used on men's and women's tours very commonly. please find something else to comment on.,
If it's such a great shot (almost winner in your opinion), why do players like Errani and Sorribes use it only? Why don't top 30 players play like that?
he said that it was commonly used
@@pontusschroder8361 it's a shot used by weak pushers as their main lethal weapon :)
@@KonstantyKostekKosteckiKostka So Nadal is suddenly a weak player 😂
Bravissima...concentrate en ti...deja quimeras...vales mucho 😉✌🙌
Awesome.
they have pretty similar shot productions
Bodosa is strong. Solid game.
Mirra Andreeva is so talented. She has a bright future
Lamentable el último rally.
really surprising result! I thought Badosa retired to have more time for the Insta page...
Here to see if Badosa is a better player post break up 😂
The last point.😂😂
2:48 Andreeva has one of the fastest reactions/anticipation I have ever seen when the opponent is about to execute a drop-shot. I guess Ons will have troubles when playing her.
Badosa is a specimen.
Badosa did well! Yet, Andreeva judgement really needs to improve.
Without a doubt, the Spanish, Paula Baldosa, being physically and mentally well, can beat anyone, even the new and young star of women's tennis, the Russian Mirra Andreeva.
Andreeva had a bad day definitely… don’t mean to take away credit from Badosa but it was obvious
The last point was too funny. I'm glad to see Badosa back, with a beautiful outfit 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
She plays better now without Tsitsipas and Vice-versa. Love, indeed, can either inspire you or destruct you ❤💔
Playing/ defending matchball in the moonball style is a bad idea if you are thinking about conquering the WTA in the future... It's just a bad habit. The big three immediately destroy such a ball with a smile on their faces..
Vamos Paula❤
what the hell was last point? volleyball? :D
Didn't you listen? A "fascinating final rally" 😂
More like badminton.
moon tennis
The plan was BarBadosa
women still ask for equal pay after that last point?
Technically, Women always had more rights than men. I dont know why they cry. Male tennis is different, 3 sets in Atp masters and 5 in GS
I think Mirra is overhyped right know. I know who she beat, but it doesn't explain why she is in TOP 5 favourites to win French Open according to most of the bookies, right behind Swiatek, Sabalenka, Rybakina and Gauff. She is not consistent enough. For example Ostapenko is outside top 10 favourites to win FO but how she is worse than Mirra ?
Ostapenko has zero chance at RG I would say but I agree with you on this over hyped teenager. There are however only 3 contenders this year and we all know who they are. It's a shame Muckova hasn't played recently as she would have made it 4.
Mirra is a rising star and proved it once again in Madrid. It's no surprise that she looks preferable to many other inconsistent players.
Why would she have "zero chance at RG"? Her only major tournament singles title was RG in 2017. @@davidbosquette2940
@@osmotreno Are you sure ? Who she beat this year in good shape except maybe Paolini? She beat ONS at AO but ONS was in terrible shape at the start of the season so i'ts not big deal, till Madrid she was outside top 50 in WTA Race. She beat Vondrusova who is number 29 in WTA Race. I think some of the good results she get because she was underestimated but when taken seriously like in game against Sabalenka she looks like someone outside TOP 50, and definitely she is not in top 5 of the season as odds might suggest.
@@piqo44 She has beaten a lot of strong players over the past year and has a positive record against top-20. It's better than Gauff at her age, than many other top-20 players during this time. She hasn’t beaten top-4 yet, but everything is ahead.
That last point was like playing a junior match, if you know what I mean
glad Tsitsidosa is over, now paula needs to get back to top 10 like she used to be.
She got her a$$ whipped badly! That was no battle be honest.
What a ridiculous commentator...
Andreeva played so well ? She was out in two sets and she had never made it close!
fascinating final rally?
Worst I have ever seen, looked more like a bad edition of volleyball
Did you watch the whole game? Maybe it was closer than the scoreline suggests...
Fans have been complaining for years and neither has she improved or been replaced. An ear sore - makes remarks that are utterly out of place, enthusiastic after dull moments and vague after key moments as she hasn't bothered to learn the inner workings of the game.
@@uff321 yeah i find her annoying as well. Her "commentary" consists of empty platitudes with no added value...
@@al1976-v7m actually I did with the different commentator. Final score reflects Badosa outplaying Andreeva who is totally overrated by social media.
Not so fast kiddo...well she just turned 17 so she has got a year left before we can stop calling her a kid anymore and see whether all the hype surrounding her is real or not or whether she'll just be like the Fruhvirtova sisters Linda and Brenda who were equally hyped but Linda's now 19 and ranked 150 while sister Belinda is 17 and ranked 102 with both still to win anything big.
The last point wasn't a great commercial for women's tennis
Dumbest final point ever. Wow.
We moonballing out here
nice Badosa, just destroyed her
CONSIDERO QUE PAULA BADOSA SE SEPARÓ DE TSITSIPAS POR SU NIÑADAS YA QUE SE VE QUE TSITSIPAS TODAVÍA DEPENDE DE SUS PADRES, QUE PENA QUE AHORA SUFRA PAULA BADOSA❤
Badosa was looking tired in the match point.
Brawoa Paula
Whenever I feel bad about my net game, I watch women's tennis
Well it's funny because they demanded, and received, equal pay for obviously unequal tennis
Why is it 720p in 2024
great comeback by Badosa after her break up.
The break-up effect!
Mirra got bullied hard by besties Aryna and now Paula. Ouch.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Badosa is back?
I thought this was an unfair match up for the seventeen old.
