i think the newer equipment (generally) sounds better, has more features, and that the fetish over the vintage stuff is more about collecting than it is about sound.... just my two cents
Finally there’s a video on RUclips of an artist producing REAL Electro and not a video titled Electro when the video is actually acid trance. Nice work!
Bro I've never heard anybody make this kind of music. This man has got miami bass electro classic new you name it he got it but your right this particular style is rare to find.
Having grown up with and loved 80s electro this passes the credibility test, very few people get it right on YT. The bassline is great and the punch from the RD8 works brilliant, a lot of the magic is in the arrangement just keeping things interesting, drum fills in the right places and staying within the confines of the genre without overdoing it or sounding too modern. 9/10
When people ask me where to start with hardware for this style of music, I always tell them to get an RD-8 and the SH-101 clone of your choice, and you just proved out my sage advice! haha... but seriously, great work man!
Hi! I also saw way many people use SH01 clones, is it for the sound? I'm about to get a bass station 2, it hass more features and I guess it will work nice for electro...
Richtig geiler Track. Die Idee mit der POV Kamera find ich klasse, so kann man alle Schritte sehr gut nachvollziehen. Bitte noch mehr von solchen Tutorials.
I find these pov tutorials pretty awesome. I stumbled across your channel a few days ago and already watched some videos several times. Thank you for sharing your creative process / workflow. I think it‘s really interesting how other people approach to music making.
@@Erhalder no worries, but seriously, this was amazing - different to the normal "how to" videos I see, not to say they are bad, cos they aren't, but i really liked this style here and the sounds you made, and then finished! Gold star ⭐
When your comment "i dont want to bore you" came up i laughed, i could listen to this all day 😍 ill be happy if i can make a tune sound half this good 😁
I love this! I’m into the same music and have roughly the same setup but I tend to use the rd8 just for jamming because mixing is always a pain in the ass.. but motivated now to get a separate mixer for it so I can utilize those separate outputs. This was helpful. Thanks!
@@ErhalderThanks! I'm running several rd8 parts seperately now through my Tascam U16x8. Really a gamechanger. I can finally use it for actual production instead of just jamming. Thinking about buying a better interface or mixer. The tascam is fine for starters but the sound isn't great. Any suggestions?
@@bikesmusicandrandomness8017 hey robin, nice to hear that. i'm using a tascam 20x20 myself at work, and i think its solid and the sound is fine too. although i just use it as audio interface and never tried the built in mixing/eqs/fx. i guess the differences with 'higher quality' audio interfaces are generally not really audible, especially when used for electronic music or with synthetic sounds. least i can't hear a difference between a 2000$ converter and a 200$ these days. or maybe i just like the 'cheap' sound. so sorry, i can't suggest anything, becuase i haven't tried many.
This is mint. I see you chose which of the 8 outs to record the rd8 with, mixed a few on one channel. smart. yeah it is always a pain to go in and edit things to sync but that is the way it is most of the time haha. glad to see someone else go in and add extra instruments after a jam, glad i am not the only one. great stuff dude!
thanks mate, appreciate! yeah the syncing part is not the most fun to do, but at least it can be done for all channels in one go, if i do it before i start editing.
@@Erhalder dope video! Don't even know what electro is tbh but apparently I dig it lol. Just got the rd8 mkii myself, curious how you hooked it all up. Tried to reverse engineer looking at mine and can't tell if those are all trigger outputs or if you did the bass and snare individually... Thanks!

I have an RD-8 mk2 and RD-6 on the way which when paired with my Model D and Crave shall be known as an Ulistack. I hope someday to make anything that sounds half this good.
@@maccagrabme Thank you so much, I do worry when something is so cheap what corners have been cut (long term life of capacitors ) I have Roland gear from 1997 and it's going strong.........but, to flip it, maybe other manufacturers have been inflating prices. Uuuummmh
