The caliber and presentation of your content is unsurpassed. What a horribly undeserved fate for those most helpless and harmless people. Absolute madness.
As an autistic, borderline mentally disabled young man with cerebral palsy (no, I am not physically impaired; I am simplisticly collectized under the general portion of the populous who have suffered a brain injury prior to their first annual epoch being completed) I would have likely been deemed to be "life unworthy of life" should I had been conceived and born during Hitler's reign of terror. I've been amalgamating a research paper regarding this very topic lately. How about taking a gander at a sample of my research: Hitler had deeply pined for the mass execution of mentally and physically impaired individuals for decades. In 1929, at the age of 40, via a pejorative elocution at Nuremberg, the future Führer und Reichskanzler espoused the following somewhat paraphrased articulations regarding the impaired: “Through our modern sentimental humanitarianism, we make an effort to maintain the weak a the expense of the healthy. Criminals are allowed to reproduce, degenerates are laboriously coddled in an artificial way. Thus we slowly grow the week whilst killing the strong. If Germany gained a million children annually and eliminated 700,000 to 800,000 of the weakest foundlings, the result would likely be an upward graduation in strength. The most egregious thing is to cut ourselves off from the process of natural selection.” Ruminating upon this quotation, it is utterly foreseeable that Hitler order a physician, Karl Brandt, to terminate the indubitably innocent Gerhard. Following his injunction, Karl incumbently, dutifully ended the conscientious existence of the 4-month-26-day-old suckling via a lethal injection. This original episode of euthanasia, in all likelihood, emboldened Hitler to institutionalize a full-fledged campaign against the impaired. Who are the true monstrosities again?".
America likes to ignore how eugenics was widely considered legitimate here because we don't do "bad" things.
I do say though, that, if one chooses to take that descent into darkness, having an excellent guide such as yourself is a must.
Was?? It still is ... Planned Parenthood is a good start.
I’m not sure I’d classify abortion as akin to eugenics, personally.
@@borismuller86 really... You should do a little research on that. Does the name Margaret Sanger ring a bell?? Let me know what you find out.

This is undoubtedly the best video ive seen on this subject. Again brilliant video mate. My great Uncle was with the 11th Armoured when they liberated Bergen-Belsen . He only spoke about it once and never again.
As a mother of a special needs child this one pulls on my heart strings. Thank you for making a video about this subject.
Would you have kept your child if your government didn't pay you extra money to care for your child? Would you have kept your child if YOU had to pay for all its medical expenses including operations and medication? Would YOU have kept your child if YOU had to pay for its education?

One very frightening aspect the T4 euthanasia program are the nice buildings where these atrocities were perpetrated. It is easy to imagine someone who was sent to one of these killing centres on arrival thinking to themselves that nothing bad could possibly happen to them in such civilized surroundings. The sheer evilness of the program is emphasised by the neatly manicured trees, pleasant gardens, and nice architecture, of these murder factories. It's like the buildings themselves played an active role in the deception. In many ways, they were like so many gingerbread houses in some nasty Grimm's fairy tale.
Again, well done. Also, the frequency seems to be up. Not complaining at all, just don't burn yourself out.
Very unlikely I’ll burn out. The frequency is up due to me simply getting the writing bug sooner than usual after the previous upload. 😅
It unfortunately proves that evil is a real and needs to be fought at all cost!! I love your voice and the way you present each video, most just give the facts, but you and wonderful comments give a glimpse that you’re not just reading fact but have a opinion as well!! Can’t wait for your next video..
Great video - again. You know what else deserves the 'Descent Into Darkness' treatment? The Ahnenerbe - the Nazi Ancestorial Society.
Absolutely riveting narrating as always my friend.. so sad.. that but towards the end nobody asked for the hand they were dealt.. that stuck to me..
I love your humor. Its so subtle, but the picture transition at 7:02 was hilarious, its nice in such a sad topic to have at least some degree of lightheartedness
Thanks DiD for another interesting and informative video
Glad you enjoyed it
As an Autistic person I learned a lot about the Aktion T4 program and Hans Asperger involvement. It's why many of us in the Autism community don't use the term Asperger to describe our condition but instead use Neuro-diverse or Autistic. I still find it unsettling that even today many people still see Autistic people as a lesser human being. The bullying and abuse I receive from the public makes me sad. There's nothing wrong with me, I'm just different. But we carry on as a community and stick together and support each other. I hope one day the rest of society will finally recognise our worth.
Great vid! I am glad that you took my suggestion (kind of) and talked a little about German resistance. That one father... he was destined to be an asshole no matter who was in power IMO. But I'm happy to see that people did try to rebel against this insanity by demanding their children back. And that one brave Cardinal - perhaps I missed it, but did he suffer any retribution for being so outspoken against this practice?
Also - yes, yes, yes! I only knew of California's terrible past from The Dead Kennedy's (Kill The Poor, California Über Alles). They were alluding to current events (early 80s), but the lyrics made me think and do a little digging into the past. Who says you can't learn anything from Punk? :D
I do so love when I learn something from vids. You do not disappoint.
It seems he did not suffer any ill consequences. Perhaps it was too public?

Yeah there was an attempt to pass at least five sterilization laws in the state of Ohio. And there was a lot of interest in Eugenics at the Ohio State University in the early 1900s.
Living in ohio at the moment, interesting fact!
About 40% of Americans should be sterilized right now.
Margaret Sanger was a big proponent of eugenics and sterilization, particularly for Negroes.
Yet another excellent presentation and in addition to your summary, which in terms of the subject matter and your near perfect summary, requires vigilance, ever urgent vigilance.....
What's terrifying is that this mentality is still out there. And growing in power.
Indeed. History is repeating. Check out Australia's Roadmap to Improve the Health of People with Intellectual Disability and National Centre of Excellence for Intellectual Disability Health.
The physicians are being trained/retrained to lead the way once again.
Australia has imported a bunch of health 'professionals', academics, etc, from the UK to champion mass murder. Why? Because the disgraceful practices are already well advanced in the UK.
I love your channel. No flash, no embellishment just a simple oratory of the facts in such a compelling way.
I am surprised, though, that you have not yet done a video on Oskar Schindler. I would love to hear your in-depth look at his life

I appreciate the way you handle this delicate subject scaring respect for the victims of this atrocity committed on people who could not defend themselves. I have worked with people with disabilities in my career and I could never imagine doing any of the horrible things which were done to these poor souls. All in the name of money, that's what it really boils down to for some people. I hope we never have another regime like this again in anybody's lifetime. I'm hoping that the storm of fascism will pass soon for a country before events like this become commonplace in America. I will say this and only this, not on my watch and not over my living body, no way in the pit of bloody Hades will I stand idly by to watch euthanasia happen to anyone. 😢

I haven't even begun the vid but as an interesting side note I just finished watching a fascinating SKD vid that mentioned how the Nazis as early as 1933 were posting news from the US (specifically the lynching in San Jose) as evidence of decadent western civilization. It struck me funny because decadent is not the first word that comes to mind when I think of lynching's.

Well, OK, USA did a job on the indigenous tribal clans. This one is great. Wasn't it Goring that brought the USA genocide at Nuremburg? Research and presentation A++++ Thank You
A few days ago, I spent way more time than I should have arguing with someone that was trying to downplay the cruelty of the medical community towards those born with physical or intellectual disabilities when they showed me the death certificate of an American child from the mid 1920s that noted her to be an: "incompetent idiot" as one of her comorbidities.
They really were trying to say that calling anyone those two things weren't actually ever used to humiliate other people until much later, and that the adoption of such terms into mainstream medical records wasn't at all influenced by people that saw the lives of the disabled as being a burden.
History is starting to repeat itself with little bits here & there until sadly it will be to late
In the documentary I will link below, you will hear about how it all started in Hospitals, which role nurses had in all of this, and also where the name "T4" came from. Must-see material.

The channel will have to be doing a lot better before I could venture out to Cali but you never know! Lake Tahoe does look incredible! 👌🏻
I only recently came across your videos and I have to honestly say, you narrate history extremely well, even at times of humor. I lived in (then West) Germany from 1981 to 1984, after my father was stationed at Bitburg Air Base. Naturally, this is when I discovered the history of Germany, the good and the terrible. Even then, it was difficult to conceive that such much life lost to sheer and pure evil, as I had never actually encountered such before that time, and really even after (that is, until September 11, 2001). And, perhaps sadly and ironically, history is indeed seeking to repeat itself, as assisted suicides have become legal in some countries (such as Canada). I never could understand back when I was young what that kind of evil was, and then all hell broke loose in 2020 with the lockdowns, suppression of freedoms, liberties, and rights, and mandates. I have seen people willingly follow the herds in doing what is expected of them. Before 2020, there was anti-Semitism, but since it has become the accepted norm, but only against certain groups of people, including Conservatives like myself. Now I understand what I didn't back then.
Thank you your kind words. I greatly appreciate them.
I am discovering more and more just how f-ed up humanity can be to itself. It is scary at times because if something can happen once, you’d be a fool for thinking it couldn’t happen again. This is what I fear the most.

And it gets truly awkward...
I myself have a number of mental health problems, which include Autism and ADHD. Having Autism would've automatically sealed my fate. The ADHD was hereditary for me. My mom's mother had ADHD, but the gene skipped my mom down to me. I'm the only one left in my family who has ADHD. My mom also has PTSD. This would've doomed both me and my mother, whom I'm very close to. I appreciate the attention given to this aspect of WW2, as I feel this aspect is often overshadowed by most other events that occurred during the war.
Doesn’t even bare thinking about.
I know most people would rather forget horrible things like this. But to ensure it doesn't happen again, we must continue to remember it so that others may learn of it.@@DiD86
Do you notice any parallels with the euthanasia law in Canada or is it just me??
If you can't understand the difference lies in the details, then it's just you indeed.
@@GBOAC After reading your answer, I'm even more worried... That was exactly the argument for implementing Aktion T4.
@@GBOAC Since 2016, Canada's Death Assistance Program - known as Maid, stands for Medical Assistance in Death - has been available to terminally ill adults. In 2021, the law was changed to include people with serious and chronic physical conditions, even if this condition is not life threatening. This year there is an expectation that there will be a new change, which will include some cases of mental illness.
If you can't see any similarity then either we have a problem or a normalization
@@salirenses the argument for T4 was that even though the ethics were concerning, the burden on the State for caring for these people was too high. That has little relation to the Canadian euthanasia laws (or any similar legislation in Western countries) where the argument is to limit perceived suffering for the patient. As thus to end discomfort and needless pain and agony. I’m failing to understand why you can’t see the difference, with T4 they didn’t care about the patient’s wellbeing at all. They even killed happy patients.
@@salirenses a butcher and a veterinarian both kill animals, but not for the same reason. You seem to work from the opposite direction, that because T4 and MAID both kill mental patients, they must have the same reason.

I'm autistic and I'm happy to be alive. I have a lot to offer to my community and the customers at the flea market where I enjoy selling my handmade treasures. It sickens me to think that vulnerable people were murdered back in those days. The killing is still going on today by means of abortion. In Canada today, our leader Trudeau issued in euthanasia and assisted suicide and legalized it for people with a terminal illness. He now wants to expand the programme to people who have mental health issues. I hope he's voted out of office. I'll be voting Pro-Life. I'll be voting for Pierre.
And remember the Nazis and Hitler in particular got their eugenics ideas from the progressives of the U.S.A. Might wanna do a little further dig into that. I strongly recommend historian Edwin Black " War on the weak". Enough some Nazis at Nuremberg quoted U.S.A eugenics laws as a defense.

The comments of certain individuals as to the role of eugenics in the Holocaust is paticular interesting to myself as it is a opinion which I tend to agree with. The theory was paticularly prevelant amongst so called upper classes in Europe and America. Obviously the war enabled the relatively small clique of influential and powerful people who prevailed in Germany to extend these aporling acts into the Holocaust. I suppose people were allowed their views.

Sterilization went on well into the 1970s in some jurisdictions.
Think the seeds were sown by Mr Darwin along time before eugenics.
No mention of Margaret Sanger?? Seems odd, I can't help but wonder why not
Because this video is focussed on the Nazi’s eugenics program. Whilst Sanger was obviously a very big influence for things such as Planned Parenthood etc, the mention of the US was merely for the purposes of establishing that it was not purely a German idea but did not warrant going deeply into it as this would have shifted the focus too much.
Not everything is a conspiracy. She doesn’t have much to do with the Nazis. If this was a video on eugenics itself then maybe it would make sense to include Sanger.
Great video my man, it's sad that they saw disabled people as useless.
Would they have killed me as I have Aspergers Syndrome a form of Autism.
If I had to guess if the Nazis knew that you have Asperger’s syndrome then yes they would have probably killed you.
Autism was rarely diagnosed in the '60s and in the '40s almost not at all, most likely it would have been seen as a nervousa issue and you would have been sterilized unless you were wealthy in which case you probably would have just been labeled eccentric much like Nikola Tesla or Einstein was.

The individuals who participated in these acts of depravity have forever destroyed the reputation and future of the country they professed to adore so much. For those who participated in such heinous acts of depravity the stain which will forever be placed upon Germany will never be erased over the course of history whatever the attempts of apologists and various misguided individuals to lessen its intensity. The war aims of Germany were in my opinion no worse than those persued by many Great Powers throughout the centuries, remove the barbarity of the Holocaust and I suggest the conduct of German armed forces was no worse than other participating powers to any great extent, maybe some people will not agree obviously once again it is a matter of debate and opinion. The main point I was arguing is that the nation has irretrivably been tarnished with the consequences of the actions of relatively small numbers of miscreants , followers and psychopaths. I do not wish to appear as miminmising the responsibility of all the German people but I have always noticed how necessary it was for the architects of the montrous acts to involve many other?????...??...?????

Good video, quite well explained. But you’re using the word ‘genocide’ entirely incorrectly. The Nazis were not committing genocide, because they were not killing people from a defined nation or ethnic group, they were exterminating differently on the basis of an evil criteria for eugenic and perverse reasons. It might better be labelled as ‘organised murder’ or similar, but not genocide. The term is too important to be misused.

At the 3:41 mark, you mentioned a law that was passed in California, was this a law for sterilization or euthanasia? Not that sterilization by force is okay but you did say a "literal kill the poor law", so I guess you refer to a euthanasia law that was passed for the "economically vulnerable".
I have tried to find more information about this and all I found was the following:
"End of Life Option Act. The End of Life Options Act (SB 128) went into effect on June 9, 2016. It allows California residents who are at least 18 years old and have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of 6 months or less to request a medication that will hasten their death."
Just how is this comparable to the forced euthanasia used by the Nazis?
I did read that physician assisted death is now being protested as it helps people who have disabilites to commit suicide, but it hardly compares to being forced to end one's life
Also, no where could I find anything about ending someone's life who is "economically vulnerable"in California.
Just look up California eugenics. You seem defensive about it so I'll assume you live there.
I hope bill gates listens to this episode....
Like the control of having only ne child and if the pregnant mother has an unwanted female child it can be aborted in the final month of pregnancy so they can try again for a male. Then you get entire towns with nothing but males and when they are able to dowry a female to wed they treat her like a slave.
Found the feminist.
@@thatlittlevoice6354 Try looking up what happened as a result of China's one child policy introduced in 1979, replaced with a two child policy in 2015. By 2005 121 boys were born for every 120 girls in China, in some rural areas the figure was 140. Never mind the societal effect of that imbalance, how did it occur? Oh yes, female babies were aborted in favour of having a son on the next attempt. You don't have to be a feminist to object to that
