Im a bit like Jonah lately…working in the church kitchen…feeding the poor troubled folks in our small community…one had failed to turn off the tap on our sweet tea container…what a shame to let the sweet tea be wasted on the floor…I dont understand their inability to jump up and turn it off…Im still feeling a bit angry…their reactions their ungratefulness…yet our Lord wants to save their souls…lift us all up in prayer as we serve.
Even more than the fact that the Ninevites were cruel, I think Jonah was upset because as a prophet, he probably knew that the Assyrians would be the ones to conquer the northern kingdom of Israel. (Nineveh was the capital of Assyria.) So the revival in Nineveh spared the people who would later conquer Jonah's own people. Jonah might have had a hard time showing his face in Israel after preaching the message that saved the Assyrians.
The wind beat Jonah with the heat he had glad for a gourd which gave him shade but couldn't be glad for 120000 people who repented in sackcloth and ashes
As Jonah was... How was Jonah in the fish? Was Jonah dead or alive in the fish? The same way Was Jesus dead or alive in the place of the dead? Jonah had to be dead in the fish.
I will never question what Jesus says but his writings is a truth and I believe it wholeheartedly but you're teachings are just close to his not there but close
