I'm a committed OM user of the 1980's and 90's but have been relatively inactive in creative photography in last 15 years. Recently retired, I've decided to take up the hobby again with a basic Micro Four Thirds system and found myself in the market for a secondhand (sorry - "pre-loved") OM-D E-M10 Mk.II. I found several on eBay with low shutter counts at around £180, body only with charger and battery. I found one at a similar price with the 9mm Body Cap Lens. "Is it worth bothering with, or is it just a crude gimmick?", I asked myself. Then I found your excellent review and images! I am now the proud owner of a "low-mileage" E-M10 Mk.II with 9mm BCL - or at least I will be in a few days when it arrives in the post! Thank you for the great review, a perfect mix of objective analysis, inspiring images, and your personal thoughts! PS: MK is a great place for creative photography!
Have enjoyed my BCL immensely since it's purchase. Most fun lens in my bag- great when I want something with a "different" perspective. Since I don't make super large prints, it is more than sharp enough for me! What a bargain! Thanks for the video!
A mode is just a quicker M mode. I choose the aperture I want and let the camera match the shutter speed and iso. Exactly what I do in manual but quicker and easier. Want to adjust the exposure use the exposure compensation.

great review..all i wanted to know and same OMD EM10 as mine for using compact on daily usage..:)
Very helpfull video here! Thx. I use a OM-D E-M10 Mark II and I am a lightpainter. So I only work at night or indoors where it can be made pretty dark. Main question for me, is the aperture adjustable in-camera? Because I use f11-f16 most of the time...
Thanks for spreading the word about this little gem of a lens! I found one half price on eBay - I think a lot of people buy them new, take a few high distortion novelty images, then put them on eBay - where they can be bought and appreciated by photographers with more imagination :o) Don't be put off by the toy-like appearance of this lens - it's capable of magic!
Your video was really professional. Really appreciated it. I have a G9 and GX800 (all lumix) and I was interested in this lense for my videos for my channel. You gave me some good informations. Thank you. I subscribed to your channel 🙏
Thank you for the informative review and sharing your creativity. You used Lightroom to post-process some of the images. Would you be kind enough to share with me what adjustments you typically made? You have great results, and I would like to learn from you by emulating. Thank you.
Thank you so much. That really helps to give me some rough directions in post-processing. Again, I would like to commend you for the very good work shown in your video review.
@@Big-GVideo i have 3 lenses, 1x zoom lens 1xstandard zoom lense and one 45mm portrait lense Would you recommend me this lense? I am looking for wide angle lense and fisheye and i am not sure because i only do automatic focus right now

Totally agree. Thanks for commenting
I love your lightroom edited pictures.
I bought this lens and believe me it's very good .
A lot of people asking why shoot in A mode, well, a lot of photographers use that on the street in daytime.

Can this be used on OM mounted film cameras like the OM-2?
I don't think so

Fair enough - I have the Panasonic 12-32mm as well as the BCL and that works fine for me, but the BCL often gives me something unique.

Awesome, thank you!
@@Big-GVideo Thank you for the video. I am starting to watch the other ones. I really like how you do them. Happy to have found you 🙏
Why shoot in AP if the only thing you can control is Shutter?

Is there a lense that does the same but with automatic focus?

Happy to help!
Why do you choose Aperture priority, on a Lens that has a fixed f/8?
Big G photo Can I stop down some more to say f11 or f16 while using this lens?
@@cirrusclouds8295 Nope. Fixed aperture.
Has this been defished? It's a fisheye but it doesn't seem as pronounced
@@Big-GVideo it looks great, I'm buying one now
Your right .
@@rascalhusky8129 to it being defished or looking great? It's an awesome little lens...
@@Big-GVideo (almost) worth it's weight in gold (considering it only weighs 30g with the lens cap 😜)
