Roller trailers are junk, unless you like little divots in your hull , cause that’s what they do over time when the weight of that boat is sitting on there for a long time. Bunks don’t do that. And wait just till you get to maintenance all those little rollers. Bunks don’t need much maintenance. And if you know how to set a bunk style trailer up properly, it loads just as easily. Oh, and you better make sure you tie that boat down good cause boats like to roll right off the rollers onto the ground if you’re not careful.
This looks just like the proper way to use rollers on a boat trailer. Plenty of them so that the weight is distributed over many. I still prefer a good bunk trailer setup though. Much less to go wrong and maintain. This, coming from an ex boat trailer builder. My boat goes on the trailer as easily as this. Like a glove. 👍

Bunk trailers have little to no support between the uprights that they are attached to. Just step on one between the supports and it will flex down easily
@@xmradio11 I guess some, mine has a support every 18 inches, besides a boat distributes it's weight evenly across a bunk which makes the bunk flex way less than you focusing all your weight in-between bunk supports
When I grew up, most trailers were all rollers ( not this many). I recall a trailer that had both...you came up on the rollers and then a lever allowed you to raise bunks to even out the load carried by the rollers.
OMFG if that was my trailer i would cry and go nuts. This is 100% NOT what you do with a trailer. You don't put the hubs under water. All the bearings are going to rust and seize. Anyway its a nice looking trailer you got there. The amount of rollers on there is insane, you would never have to worry about the boat moving. Who ever made this trailer is a legend.
@@wildworldoutthere9349 Sorry i didn't write this, it must have been my son. He said what he said because i taught him. But he doesn't realise your trailer is fixed and doesn't tilt. A tilt trailer lowers right down into the water so you don't have to submerge the hubs. Its what i use on my speed boat and my dad uses on his 25 foot yacht. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Every roller trailer we ever use takes two people or you have to leave the motor in gear and get off and hook it cause we always just rolled right back off
Are all the launch ramps that steep in your area? Boat trailer vehicle --- its "nice" when they all work together. Boat waterline level to earth when on the trailer (hooked-up and ready to go, behind each tow vehicle)?
I wish that they would bring back tilt trailers with rollers. I have one for my 21ft Wellcraft that I purchased in 1998. The trailer is still in great condition even though it has been exposed to a fair amount of salt water over the years. I back it in until the rear axle is about to get wet, release the catch for the tilt, loosen the brake on the winch and let it roll off. It is an electric winch so I can easily winch the boat back on. I have never had bearing issues even though I don't use bearing buddies. I have launched from ramps that others find too shallow or too steep. I have even dropped the boat in the yard to adjust the trailer then winced it back on.
I once owned a 23.5 ft Hains Signature and the previous owner said you have to drive it on the trailer. He said 8 knots and dont back off, and he was dead right. It just went up on that trailer beautifully.
When I made my boat trailer I used bunks I had my lights mount up high on my side bunks that mostly kept them out of the water if you got the nose between the sides it had no choice but to to straighten up when it came on
How does it work on a steep dock? I have a smaller fishing boat and the back sits on a roller setup. Steep docks you can’t unhook the nose strap until the back is floating or it’s coming off the trailer.
Powering on to a trailer is prohibited in some places. The problem is that the prop wash excavates a ditch at the end of the ramp. When the ditch gets bid enough it undermines the concrete.
I use these for jet skies. Means you can also load the trailer further up ramp, so your vehicle doesn't have to be closer to the water, or deeper into the ramp.
Now, how my Dad could do it maybe hitting reverse, a perfect guide in. Airplane pilot once taught me when driving a boat you absolutely have to compensate for wind direction. So, after a private solo fishing trip at Port Alto, I tried it, to come into the dock boar barn cove, but smashed against the dock. Just a little dent here are there, but after that things weren't too cool with the boat.
The blokes in the local fishing club give me heaps because i have a dunbier super roller trailer. Too expensive they say. Well, i say its worth it. Its only a 5.3m boat but a self centring trailer makes retrieval in high winds or current a breeze. Its a heavy 5.3m boat too. 220hp stearndrives are stupid heavy compared to outboard equivalents.
That’s power loading and over time it erodes the ramp. So, no- not perfect although far better than many I’ve seen in 40 years of trailering. Cue the hate….😎
So many videos like this and there’s still tons of new videos every weekend of people that can’t figure out how to leave a boat launch without wrecking theirs or someone else’s day.
We can't load our boats on like this because it leaves a big hole at the concrete edge of the ramp from propeller wash. Stuffs the ramps especially the learners trying to do this
Great for loading but you have to wade in the water to unhook the boat when launching or it will roll off trailer on the ramp. To each their own, I like my bunk trailer.

If I'm fishing with someone we could back the trailer down and I could load the boat and be off the ramp in mabey 3 minutes. With bunks just run ot up to the stop roller and just pull out. Being in Tampa Bay you gotta be fast. And a roller trailer I seen a woman get drug down a boat ramp because they unhooked the boat and it rolled off onto the concrete and her knees were a bloody mess.

Holding you to this. I'll bring a case of beer.
I'm bringing fireworks

I’ll bring ammo

Supa Rolla is an understatement. Dayum that’s a lot of rollers..

Great job. I've done that many times. It gets to be a challenge when there's a crowd.
Did that kid say wtf? Hahahaha
Thought I was the only one who heard that 😂
I think she did 😂
think she said “what’s that sound?” but i can’t unhear “wtf?” after reading this🤣🤣
I think she said the dog's name and then stop. Something like Gunther Stop.
Thats exactly what she said
That's a nice trailer. I like all the rollers. If you can't get your boat on the trailer straight with that many rollers, you have a problem 😂.
So Glad Rover was there to make sure the boat was positioned properly in the front!
As someone who repaired boat trailers for 20+ years....nope. Properly set skid boards way way cheaper and just as easy to load. 😮
Smooth and lined up well.
No wind... no current... steady tide... no one around...
Yes, of course. 😂

Looks like somebody's done that a few times. Perfect approach...silky load! That roller setup doesn't hurt. 9/10 👍👍
Love all of the rollers, and damn nice loading of you have definitely done this a few times

Converted my roller trailer to rug covered boards, less maintenance and no roller marks on the underside of my boat lol
Growing up I always would see rug covered board trailers and wondered if those really helped reduce thee scuff marks.
@@edmills9736 it totally does. Never had a problem with scuff marks after that.
The dog is running up there like See grass.I see grass
How’s your wheel bearings doing? Just wondering
That's just as slick as "owl poop" right there!!😂
like the wheels on the trailer we need some for our bigger boat the smaller one is easy to get on sometimes
I once owned a 23.5 ft Hains Signature and the previous owner said you have to drive it on the trailer. He said 8 knots and dont back off, and he was dead right. It just went up on that trailer beautifully.
You made it look easy ! GOOD JOB ! 😊
It's much more fun to watch them load a boat with the trailer tongue underwater 😮
Holy Rollers!!!
Yeah, i think they went way overboard with them

Ladies n gentlemen that's how it's done!! Great work capt.

When there is no strong air, things happen smoothly. Overall, excellent work, may ALLAH protect everyone
Yes easy way tp load a boat but even the young girl was amazed by how dad loaded if ya listen to it 😂😂😂
I love seeing a boater know how to actually put his boat on a trailer
You mean this isn't normal, must be alot of bad captains out there!
Nice frigging trailer !!😊😊
That went on its trailer nearly as well and easily as my boat goes on the 2 x 2 bunk trailer I built for it 😃
I can do that way smoother loading a cigarette boat on my trailer myself 😂
Nice job Captain.
How does it work on a steep dock? I have a smaller fishing boat and the back sits on a roller setup. Steep docks you can’t unhook the nose strap until the back is floating or it’s coming off the trailer.
I have rollers for the bow and bunks for the stern. Helps with retrieving and the boat doesn't roll off on the ramp.
The dog Said Good job Daddy
Perfect landing.....👍👍
Has confidence in what he’s doing!
Nailed it. How many times did it take?
The original captain just came to the bow out of nowhere to make sure things are right 😂🤣🤣
Wow that boat turned nicely
Had to tell us ya had a fancy boat too ! 🎉😂😮
Very good job 👍🏼. Now try doing it in current 😊

Got enough rollers there? lol
How come I don't see trailers with rollers on them much anymore 😊
Calm water, no wind, more rollers than anyone needs, yet he still bounced it😂
I'll get a boat when I can afford a place with a Dock here in the Sunshine State, all it will take is a dollar and a dream.
The dog is the lookout😁
Wow nice 👍

This is how you land your boat like a professional do you see me😮
I never power load on our roller trailer. I was always under the impression that that was a no no. 🤷🏻♂️

The reason it went so smooth is because it's a guide dog
Have fun maintaining all those rollers. Skid trailers are far easier to load and maintain

Very nice loading😮😮😮
So macht man das .Er ist ein halt ein Profi.
