Check if that recommended airlines provide you fly from Bali to Yogyakarta. That is better way travel to Yogyakarta (Jogjakarta), so you didn't need to transit on Jakarta, then go to Yogya with train.
Unless you wanna make special content Bali to Yogya by airplane & train. 😅

Jakarta-Bandung-Jogjakarta (Borobudur & Prambanan temple) - Malang (mount bromo, ijen, tumpak sewu) - surabaya - finish in Bali.
Have a nice vacation in indonesia...

The best local airways in indonesia is garuda indonesia and it is state owned, good service but little bit expensive compared to others, other airways is cheaper than garuda but sometimes if you not lucky it makes you disappointed because of delay. I think jakarta is not good for family tourist because of too crowded and too busy and alot of traffic but if you mall lovers then jakarta has alot of luxery malls. Recommend for couples and family tourist except bali is labuan bajo, gili island lombok
Enjoy your holiday plan to Indonesia on May. Anyway if you later feel Bali is chaostic just try Jogjakarta. For local airline chose Garuda Indonesia/GI (pricey), Citilink (sister company of GI) or Batik Air. I don't recommend Lion.

Hi, congrats for 90k subs! I think with the time you have it's better to spend them in Bali and surrounding area (Lombok, Gili, and perhaps most eastern part of Java). You can save the other parts for your next travel to Indonesia.

Hello, I think I agree with Natalia and Daniel in planning future trips, it's better not to spend a lot of time traveling by train. Because Indonesian regular train services on the Jakarta-Jogjakarta-Bali route require a long duration. Jakarta-Jogja takes around 6-8 hours depending on the type of train you take. Like KA. Argo is faster because its DMU locomotives are faster, max speed of 130km/hr with fewer stops at each station than other train companies. There are many train providers in Java but all of them are under PT. KAI as a state railway company. If your visit is no more than 2 weeks I guess ideally only 2 destination cities, Jakarta and Bali or Bali and Jogjakarta by airplanes. But if you go to Jakarta maybe you can use the Bullet Train (Whoosh) from Jakarta to Bandung only 30 minutes.

I think you better visit 2 destination cities if visit Indonesia : Jakarta & Bali. Good option use airplane services to saving time. Unless your visit is more than a month, you can enjoy the train ride in a relaxed manner while looking at the views along the way. 😊
