Very valuable advice, thank you!
Hi, I play good level of tennis, and I play twice a week. My problem is that I, like many other probably have a problem being consistent and improving. I hope you can help! Love the video btw!
Same swing, but on your tuck, bend over a little more at the waist, then point your Left shoulder at the ball, and drive through with your right shoulder like an uppercut punch. Note how the ball will explode with even more speed. Bending over a little allows you to extend how far you drive the heel of your hitting hand by twisting your torso through the stroke.
Great stuff... thank you. I believe there is also a whole component of wrist involved. Regarding the take back, some/many start with a cocked wrist, whereas others (Zverev e.g.) start with a flat wrist.... quite simply a matter of what feels better.
very good thanks
Is this Blakeney tennis club in Charlotte NC? I love that club!!!
Great adjustment! For me, it's getting enough power on my OHBH when stretched out wide or pushed deep
Thanks for your comment! Do you get out of balance on those situations? That could be the cause.
Getting the wrist going through and follow through
Placement of serves is the key to hold your serve games comfortably. I have problems holding my serves even though I can hit decent serves. Apart from the placement there should be some teeth in the serves. Maybe, you can show us ways to improve on that front?
Good video. For me, serving under pressure. Still having difficulty mastering the topspin serve
Have you tried the drills of our last topspin video? Thanks for your comment!
Hey Guys i play a descent level. But always struggle to hit the ball hard because i always gave so much topspin. I really want to hit the ball flatter and harder. Especially on the high balls. Any drills you can recommend?
кисть должна быть расслаблена на протяжении всего удара?
is he using the full western grip?
Great! Who are your instructors here in Charlotte??
We are both the instructors, both Sergey and Aritz.
Oh.... by far the most power comes from the hips leading the arm. Have a student hold the tip of the racquet while you use your wrist or arm to pull them VS. simply turn your hips and feel the tremendous difference. The hip turn "pulls" the racquet through the shot. Watch Djoker and most everyone else on tour. Of course the shoulders are involved as well.. but if the forward sequence doesn't start from the ground up, hips and shoulders effectively "pulling" the racquet into the ball to the finish, you're leaving a ton of pace out of the forehand. Tony Nadal sayz, "hit it with your feet".... to give you some idea. Play well...
What tipe od string are you using and gauge ?thanks🤗
Solinco hyper G
“You’s has been struggling” - haha classic
Lol
Chances are he's from spain or argentina...
Dont be like that
I got the same problem and hard to turn right.
My problem is hitting backhand overhead, and drop/ slice volleys after coming to the net when my opponet is deep
u can try jumping a bit, or do the swing with a pulling motion, for the drop volley you have to almost cushion the ball as if you would do when catching a raw egg - your grip must be relaxed too, for example, if you wanna hit a solid volley you hold it with a locked wrist at contact point and move your arm forward at an angle, if you wanna achieve the slice you hold it in a more softer manner with a more relaxed wrist at contact point
great forehand and lag too much speed power and spin.yes😎
I need some help on the pronation on the overhead.
Thanks for your comment, we will work on a video about that!
Whay strings are you using and are they good?
Have a great day!
I use Solynco Hyper G.
When you hit the swing in the air you came though with your waist in front.
What grip, Western or Semi Western? Nice rips.
looks semi western
2-HBH is well known to have this kind of problem since it has limited range of motion (compared to the forehand). I used to have this problem and eventually figured it out. Don't see you have done any videos on the footwork which i think we all can benefit/learn from. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment! We will work on a video about it.
These drills seem like practice reps, but I don't see how any of them address his issue. What's stopping him from doing the same shortened swing in the exercises?
5:58 lol
the finish looks off to me. the wrist seems locked and not rotating which can put alot of strain cause injury or worse break your wrist =(
Are you Arabian? I love your accent.
I detest when i hear teachers saying do winshield washer motion!
frank mancuso why’s that?
dude wdym y, thats Horrible Horrible technique lol
@@jasonratledge98 that's because they are trying to say windshield wiper, not washer.
I agree, thanks for your comment!
transklutz windshield
Is still crap technique.
I also noticed that you pick your head up too quickly. Stay down through the shot more
6:00
Is that an Argentine accent? You kinda sound like Del Potro
Aritz is from Spain.
I need work on getting my shots deep in the court. From Minh's nephew.
And I also need to learn how to get more back spin
We will work on a video about it.
Hit a lot of spin, get low, and kinda slow down ur swing and be more smoother when u hit the ball.
Try letting your racquet drop a little deeper into the slot on the take back. The more the butt cap points upward the deeper your shot will be; also will have more top spin. Hold your racquet loosely. A lot of club players grip so tight that the butt cap and handle are level at contact. The more the butt cap and handle angle ... the more depth.
My biggest issue is approach shots .
Thanks for your comment! What's your approach shot missing?
Sorry should have said i don't know how to attack a short ball with top spin on my forehand side. Either o just slice it back or send back a ball with little power. Thanks for your reply to first message ☺
Ps i don't think i really think have an approach shot lol. I try to split step around the 3/4 of the court and hope my serve was good enough to put pressure on opposition.
Use subtitles pls
No mean... Rude!
Your forearm don’t rotate on the follow through, it looks very stiff and no snap. This is a common mistake that lower tier instructors give; They under analyze a swing, and making the player develop a incorrect swing.
As a result, you can develop tennis elbow, and not getting enough torque on your swing.
ruclips.net/video/8jbyXVSwk7M/видео.html
look at Novak, his forearm rotates on the follow through.
Start with loosening your arms, wrist; during contact, there should be some rotation of the forearm, wrist, and palm; the swing should feel loose and very natural.
This is modern FH....extend your arm like Federar and Nadal
When he hit the forehand his body is going back that is a mistake his body needs to go foreward every professional tennis player in the tennis when they hit the forehand theres body cames forward
Angel Borisov I’ll have to disagree and I’ll explain you why. My body is moving forward as I hit, and you can check that looking at the momentum once the motion finished. Also there are so many cases when it’s imposible to hit going forward, specially on deep and fast balls or balls on the run, so even the pros end up hitting moving backwards. Thanks for your comment!
@@timevalueoftennis2866 yeah I noticed you are moving forward, I don't see the backward movement... Thanks for the videos 👍🏼 very useful
You are talking about a different video
This video is relentless on my feed and I take a look at it and of course it just frustrates me. Dude is driving the ball with western grip taking them out of the air.
I’m average in my area and I have no idea even how to go about hitting a ball like this guy is hitting. My forehand is garbage. Check my channel vids if you want to see mine and try and convince yourself this video was intended for anyone even remotely near my level. What demographic are you targeting with this vid?
After checking your channel, this video is actually a great video to improve your forehand. We use this drills with with different levels of players, from 2.5 to really high level players, with different purposes. All this drills are very easy to execute, you will find that out if you try them. It doesn't matter what kind of grip you have, practicing the proper drills you can drive the ball properly no matter your level, I have personally implemented this drills in so many 3.5 level players and they definitely work, so I would give them a try.
It’s really hard to understand what you’re saying... please use some subs
