I catch myself whistling it all the time - and honestly for a good 15 years or so I couldn't remember where I heard the tune then saw this video about a year ago and wham.
I honestly thought that for old-school, simple graphics, the arena, crowds---plus all the wrestlers---came out looking pretty cool. Kind of eye-popping for that time in my humble opinion.
Totally, the graphics are great! It's a shame the count outside the ring is way too fast, it would have been amazing to be able to fight all around the ring in that large area.
The game is a jip because the winner doesn't received a belt, at least the 1st game gave you the 86 Hogan belt. Also the ring apron should have had a wrestlemania skirt like the last game did.
@@ThunderFist1978 I knew that those wrestlers have passed away for a long time ago. The only thing that I felt SAD is MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE. 😭😭😭 That's the only wrestler I CARED about. instead of Tecmo World Wrestling we could of gotten Tecmo WWF World Wrestling, you can only imagine if WWF had of gotten Tecmo instead of acclaim and LJN to make their wrestling games, WWF could of had top selling wrestling games for NES with the same type of graphics as Tecmo World Wrestling, it would of been sick.
@@beyoncebillings6625 Personally I can't decide which one is the ultimate NES wrestling game, Tecmo or WCW. Been like that since my childhood lol. But you're right, WCW might be better since it features a roster of real life wrestlers and plenty of cool ideas (deciding which moves your wrestler will perform, tag matches, weapon outside the ring, nice camera angle when you go on the top rope). Fantastic game.
@@beyoncebillings6625 Yeah, gotta agree! Particularly with the A+ roster: Sting, Flair, Luger, Warriors, Steamboat, Dr Death, Varsity Club, Hot Stuff, Michael Hayes....one heck of a fun roster.
I was always the Ultimate Warrior when I played this as a kid back in 1990. My cousin and I were RELIGIOUS WWF fans back then. He was always Randy Savage.
Best wrestling game on the nes. Had so much fun playing this as a kid and still enjoy it now. First wrestling game to have finishers. Music was spot on. Absolutely love this
"Until recently, neither he nor the WWF/WCW (titan Sports) owned the full rights to his "Hulk" name. "Hulkamania," "Hulk Hogan," and "Hulkster" were all owned by Marvel Comics. The WWF/WWE made a deal with Marvel to use the name "Hulk." This was also done with WCW when Hogan went to WCW. WCW used "Hollywood Hogan" to cancel the Marvel deal, but the deal was still alive. However, before the 2006 release of his multidisk anthology, Hogan acquired the rights to the name Hulk Hogan from Marvel."
I got this for my birthday in November 1992. I was still a new wrestling fan (beginning spring 92 in the build-up to WrestleMania 8), and I had no idea it existed until I saw it in Toys R Us. My dad asked if I was sure this was the one I wanted. Of course I was sure; it had the Ultimate Warrior on the cover! It's no Fire Pro, it's no Zen-Nippon, it's no "Pro Wrestling", but it's playable, and the visuals and audio do a great job of immersing us into the world of the WWF in 1990--and for some of us, that alone is worth the price of admission.
I use to love playing this game as a kid, Although we didnt have the manual and my brother would always play as Ultimate warrior and throw me the fuck out of the ring as he was the only character who could do that, he would end up winning becuase i didnt know what button to press to get back in the ring.
How sad to look at the label/box art and realize that everyone pictured is dead except for Hulk Hogan. Sadder still, all the wrestlers in this game who have died so far died before the age of 60, and two didn’t even make it to 50.

This game had great atmosphere when it comes to the music and different finishers for the wrestlers and the Gameboy version was even better seemed to be based on the same gameplay WWF Superstars
Always remember playing this the first time with my cousin on a trip to the states and he exclaimed loud enough for our folks to here.. "Andre the Giant just got buttf&*&ed"... Why is Rick Rude's music still the best theme ever for a wrestler?
Oh now THIS brings back memories. Was it great? No, not really? Was it fun? Yeah, it was. It certainly didn't hurt that the music was (to me) memorable. It was at least more fun and playable than Shaq Fu at least. Then again, lots of games play better than it.
Hulk Hogan also looks like an old Great Panther from NES Pro Wrestling here. Pro Wrestling and WCW were the best wrestling games although that bar system in WCW was a pain.
This game had a terrible control scheme and it was frustrating to chase around the opponents when they werent the aggressive come at you types. However the music made it enjoyable. I always picked Yourself, Rick Rude and Macho Man in this game. This game was also my way of getting my Ultimate Warrior music fix before you could download a song on the webz. Lol
LMAO. this was the bizarre to read. id pick warrior just to listen to the music (plus the fact that he was a badass). BUt this was def how i got my warrior theme song fix. amazing.
The ai was annoying as to how the opponents refused to fight but rather wanted to walk around. Could never figure out how to get back in the ring without going to the top rope
Yup I would agree, until the first Smackdown game on PS1 that is. But even then, that franchise ended on Smackdown: Here comes the pain (WHICH I very recommend because it's the best wrestling game ever I played) on PS2
I used to love playing tag team in this game and I always went out of the ring to beat up the other guy and they would never defend themselves lol it was a cool game for the time, but there was a lack of moves and you couldn't run into the ropes
That is my question. Sometimes if I mash buttons near the rope my player will jump out but I never know how I did it. Manual says wall against the ropes and hit a and b at the same time. All it does is do your jumping attack
34 years later and I still cannot understand why they chose to have the boring generic character Yourself/Player 1 rather than have a proper playable character, say like Little Mac, maybe allow you to enter a name or at the very least have a palette swap of interesting colours. Its literally an altered version of the song thriller. The part where mj turns into a zombie.
Hell yeah! That music would get me so pumped!

I think Hogan since his name is Hulk should have worn green trunks and boots instead of yellow.
I loved the way LJN/Rare games' music sounded. I know the games were generally trash but they had great music.
I thought they weren't bad. For it's time
The 4-player capitability via the N.E.S. Satellite or the Four Score would have made this game even more enjoyable.

Probably because Acclaim owned LJN, the company responsible for the Elm Street Game.
because both games were made by Rare

Well, Dave Wise did compose the soundtrack for this game, after all.
That explains why the music is so good and memorable. Also, I wish Rare would have made some more wrestling games, since they developed this one.
The ring ropes look like lasers which would slice the limbs off of anyone unfortunate enough to touch them. ;*(
Only redeeming quality about this game (outside of the soundtrack) was that Ultimate Warrior was in it. And that you could do Hacksaw's finisher move.
