Thank you guys so much for putting this video up as I lost my DVD that came with my eco-sleep system. I’m sure you guys are aware that a lot of people have lost their DVDs or they’ve been scratched over the years and simply don’t play anymore. It was very kind of you to put this up. Reading peoples confusion over it is rather entertaining

Ray Mears, young man, I've been watching you for as long as you've been on RUclips. I've admired your spunk, willpower, and your vast knowledge of self-preservation. I've wanted to do the same thing as your doing most of my life. Instead, I just had to get married. That put an end to that. Although, 'I have most the same knowledge as you demonstrate. I don't get a chance to use it. I hope you will keep doing these very well made videos so as our youth may learn the old ways. You're a very fine teacher, sir. In my opinion. Please keep it going if you can. Thank you again.

I've been a big fan of Ray for many years. He and Mors Kochanski are/were the absolute best nature skills educators ever; even though I've appreciated the works of Absolom, Butler, Douglas, Hiddens, and to a lesser degree, Canterbury, these two always stood out. I noticed quickly that this video is edited, and that many of Ray's full length videos, whether old or new, are no longer here. Too bad; but I guess paying the bills is always a nuisance; if you want to watch them now, you've got to buy them. Cheers to ya Ray....... We miss you. RIP Mors : (

That is interesting. I tie my tarp up (I guess that is what you brits call a basher) and I tie up 2 hammocks underneath it. My hammocks are tied as absolutely tight as I can get them. I am not fond of waking up while doing a hamstring stretch and I am not sure how Ray is comfortable letting his hammock slack so greatly, especially since the cordage elongates overnight. My stuff goes in the top hammock and my body goes in the bottom usually. I have used that in some pretty bad thunderstorms and the only moisture I ever feel is the morning dew. I like having 2 hammocks because I have ripped through one before and if it happens in the middle of the night I can accommodate my equipment and myself in the second hammock if I need to. Also, my hammock is about half the size of his in his pack and has a built-in mosquito net. Always love a good Ray Mears video though. It looked as if he had aged in reverse but after reading the description... it looks like a really old video.

Hello Mr Ray Mears. Is it still possible to order items from your online store? Many seem to be victims of your success. Especially for the Eagle brand, Gransfors Bruks, among others. I am writing to you here, because no email, no answer. Ah, success takes up time;)
Thank you and have a wonderful year to you and your collaborators.

    Ha ha ha.
This reminds me of a TA training weekend in a Worcestershire forest. As night drew on we took turns at standing sentry. At one point I took my turn for some sleep....on the forest floor. No hammocks for us.
When back at barracks I stripped my clothes off and my uniform was full, I mean FULL, of ants, spiders, earwigs, millipedes, beetles, centipedes and wood lice. All attracted by my body warmth and, I guess, my smell.
    😨

Yes. Well, it's his company's channel. He's never really made an effort to respond to comments.
