On 27 May 2022, a whole bunch of sky family got together to celebrate something we all have in common, finding a pathway out of addiction for those that need/want it. According to Andrew Huberman, "Addiction is a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure." We get together to remind each other how much we love this sport, how much we love each other, and how we are so strong when we lift each other up.
As the group and awareness of the complex relationship many skydivers have with alcohol and other substances, we are all growing whether we are sober from alcohol, other substances, or nothing at all. As this awarness increases, drop zones everywhere have the opportunity to grown the amount of non-alcoholic options, to pull certain activities away from being centered around drinking, and to ensure we are providing a safe space for all our skydivers.
