Hailing from a long line of West African Griots, Jobarteh is a virtuoso on the kora, a traditional West African string instrument. With her soul-stirring voice and unparalleled mastery of the kora, Jobarteh’s music transcends cultural barriers, transporting listeners to distant realms of melody and rhythm. The limited-seat performance will take place within the immersive, glimmering Pulse Topology installation designed by renowned Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, which consists of 3,000 suspended light bulbs that respond to visitors’ heartbeats.
