Timo picked up Truls' racket after the match and waited until they had their celebration to shake his hand and give him his racket. Honestly, how can you be more humble than Timo. A true gentleman in any way! Amazing performance after beating Falck earlier!
Yes, he also showed great sportsmanship pointing at the table (a Swedish hit) at the beginning of the final. What a great player, Timo! Greetings from 🇸🇪
I think then the highlight should have included Timo picking up the racket and gave Truls back. His demeanor and love for the sports is worth recording and celebrating.
Timo also stayed a long time after every game to write autographs and take photos with the kids in the arena. Every single kid got a photo and autograph! Not only after the final, after every game Germany played in Malmö. What a legend!

Boll deserves a statue in Germany. He might not have won, but the level and dedication he displayed at the age of 42 is just phenomenal. Shout-out to Mr BOLL!

@@RalphHund What an unqualified comment. Because of Chinese Domination. He´s a hero over there. And in spite of this domination he still was number one in world ranking in 2003, 2011 and 2018 for a certain time. How can you not call him a master?

I could list so many things. He was even the flag carrier for German Olympic team in Beijing. What have you achieved meanwhile 🥹
So happy for the Swedish guys, finally after 21 years! 🎉 But hats off to Timo, last win for Sweden in 2002 Timo was playing in the final against Waldner and won in straight sets! Obviously he still got it even coming back after injury at 40+ years of age, a true legend of the sport.

As a Swede it’s great to see Boll still compete at this level, remember watching amazing rallys between Waldner and Boll as a kid. Crazy to think he’s still here, a living legend and artifact!
I member when Walldner played Boll in Athens 2004. He have litterally been playing generations of Swedish players, what a legend!
Walldner gave the tourch to Boll, and now he handed it over to Moregard, a new wave to break China?

I was expecting Boll to lose 0:3 but instead he put up a really good fight against the genius. He is a legend.
He might have lost this match, but Boll played very well in this final. A massive comeback win over Falck and making this match competitive: the best I've seen him play since he won his last European singles title...over two years ago. I think he's clearly, and naturally declined since then, but he played some wonderful stuff here. Well played both.

Looking back at this match after his amazing performance in Doha Boll might very well be on the way surprising as at the Olympics. Unbelievable dedication and open minded about changing his style AGAIN coming back stronger. He obviously was still getting back to form in this match and did still make it a tough match in the finals. Incredible. He has now in 2024 beaten Wojin, Li Yan Yu and Harimoto. Two legit top10players. Would love to see annother game with Truls now as he is back on track.

For your information, Qiu is not selected due to extreme poor form. Franziska is still recovering from an injury. Ovtcharov told Ross not to select him due to personal issues that he needs to deal with recently.

The official reason is: They, as well as Patrick Franziska and coach Jörg Rosskopf, decided that in preparation for the Olympics 2024, a long training session (which is hard to fit into their schedules) is more useful than a competition.

I being a left handed player really like Timo Boll. But if somebody wants to super critically analyse timo's game ,his forehand doesn't match up to the standards of his backhand. His forehand loop is always a little more loopy ,slow and ball rises to little more height when he loops compared to other top players

@@jorgeinostroza6675 Most of the time one wins a game in any sports by not being slow or fast but by being smart and applying the right tactics if possible! And I think Truls is smart enough to outsmart most of the chinese guys. It is also a mental game and battle!. As I said watch and see!
