Rail Around New South: June 2022

We are back for the year 2022, even though we're close to the halfway point of the year. In this edition, we take a look at 5917 with the Kiama Picnic Train in Summer 2021 and Autumn 2022 along with 2705 pulling shuttle trains from Thirlmere to Buxton on its first running weekened in March 2022.

NSW is a bit shy on steam hauled outings as of late.

That’s because, as stated in this video, the rain bombs we’d been having since Feb had caused a landslip between Picton to Thirlmere hence the lack of steam tours with 3801 and 6029 as of late. Now that it had been cleared up and repaired recently in May, they’ll be back running more tours starting June 4th and 5th. It’s lucky that Sydney Rail Services and the NSW Rail Museum were keeping the Picnic Train and shuttle trains going.
