  • I had an engine light and VSC message come up on my 2009 Toyota verso 2.0 d4d diesel 1AD-FTV. When I checked fault codes it was p1271 which, according to the web relates to the scv suction control valve and its driver and circuit. I got a replacement used edu injector driver unit 89871-20080 13100-1562 from eBay which solved the issue

    Top man! Had exactly the same fault on my Verso.... £170 later from ebay and all fixed. Saved me a few hundred quid in a garage no doubt! Thanks again 👍

    Hello, everyone. I leave here my opinion and experience.
    I've had such a situation in my car and from what I see, many different situations can point to this message and it is not always very clear the information read on the error reading devices. Unless this one in the video is better.
    In my case, in the workshop they invented immediately saying that it was a problem of injectors and that i had to put the 4 that was in a game close to 1500 €!!!
    Before you're scared to go to a garage, have a roquet or identical key that can disconnect the battery and do that... Electronics sometimes brings these things off and turning off the battery eliminates the error.
    If it does not resolve, start by cleaning the EGR valve which is the most suffering from these engines, then the gas meter valve sometimes cleans the EGR and the probe is defective.
    If it is not from there will even have to follow other more expensive tips such as this video and that in this case the device is perhaps more modern and gave the most correct information of the malfunction.
    Hug and good luck... And beware of certain workshops.... Always choose the ones that have many low and mid-range cars at the door for repair and avoid the ones that look like operating !!!

    I've watched your video on the Toyota verso, engine manufacturer light with two other lights on.
    we have a 2010 Toyota verso with same problem as yours
    I ordered a new edu "injector driver unit" from ebay.
    The edu arrived today and I installed it this afternoon.
    This too has cured our problem
    I would just like to thank you for taking the time and sharing this video with all of us you have saved us a fortune having not to put vehicle into garage.
    Once again thank you so much for your help .T stone

    I’m attempting to replaced the EDU injector drive unit after watching your vid. I got P1271 code on my Verso 2009 diesel 2.0.
    Engine light, Traction control light and VSC lights all came on at the same time. Car drives ok, but I noticed the smell is different may be the mixture of the diesel and air is wrong. I used a OBD2 scanner and notice O2 sensor 1 and O2 sensor 2 aren”t displaying, may be the O2 sensors is controlled by the EDU injector drive unit too. My question is it hard to change the EDU injector drive unit as it’s my first time to do it? Many Thanks

      It was a while ago now but as I remember it was pretty easy. Edu is located just behind the radiator and is held by three (or so) bolts. A couple of electrical plugs (careful not to break). I can't really remember exactly but I don't think it took me more than 30 minutes...and I'm pretty clumsy ;0)

      James Ridewood Firstly a BIG Thank you for your diagnostic analyst. The Code P1271 is due to a broken EDU. II’ve replaced a second hand EDU boom all my engine lights ,including Traction control and VSC lights are gone. I’ve also given the EGR and injectors a clean with Wynn’s injector cleaner and EGR cleaner to get rid off the carbon build up in the engine. Thanks again James 👍👍👍👍👍👍

    hello. had your Verso engine light always on , or frequently stay on and turn off after several kilometer? in my Verso turn off after 100 150km automatically

    • @spinkaloid
      @spinkaloid  5 лет назад

      As shown in the video the engine light would come on shortly after starting every time and never went off but I rarely drive long distances in this car so I'm not sure if it would have turned off after some km...my gut feeling is that, with this issue it wouldn't have gone off...but I might be wrong.

    Dear James, I need your help. Please help us. Thank you very much in advance.
    We bought a Toyota Verso 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately for 3 days now I've also been seeing error code p1271. Now I have to find out: is the problem caused by the fuel pressure regulator or is the problem caused by the Injektor Driver Unit? Toyota technical service said today that the Driver Unit was out of order. But Toyota did not give us confidence. Did you buy a used Driver? If we buy a used Driver, it will need to be programmed? Also we have the part number (denso) 131000-1565. Can we buy 131000-1566 or 1563 as a used product and install it? Thank You very much.

    • @spinkaloid
      @spinkaloid  3 года назад +1

      Hi. I'm sorry but I'm not sure I can give you much more information than is in the video and description. I guess if Toyota service confirm that the edu is defective you can try to replace it...but I'd replace it for one which has the same reference number to be sure. Good luck.

      Thank you very much for your answer. So if I buy a used regulator (Injektor-Driver) do I have to code it into the car? Or will the used part work directly in the car? Thanks for the answer.

      Oh my God🤩. I'm getting closer to the end. Dear James, can you please tell me: Toyota item/Produkt number is 89871-20080. Is it enough just if this number is the same, or does the denso number have to be exactly the same? Goodmorning James Ridewood I too am called James Ridewood. I imagine we are somehow related. My Grandfather, Walter James was born in Kennington in 1891 and emmeigrated to Australia in 1909 (or 1908 I get it wrong sometimes). From that event a whole little saga developed. Please send a short note, if you wish. Enjoy your day.
