I've just made my first candle tonight. I've been saving the Bonne Maman jars for a while for that purpose. Funny I stumble upon your video exactly the day I used them!
Not quite as easy as this. You need to measure diameter of the jar to ensure you are using the correct size wick. Different fragrances and waxes need different wicks as well.
I love that brand because it doesn't have High Fructose (allergic) and those jars are perfect for all sorts of things, but you obviously already know their versatility. I've been hoarding them for about a year! Maybe I'll try them for a candle or 3. Lovely work, Karen!
thanks for sharing this video just wondering what size wic you used for those jelly jars and the type please i have these exact jars and would love to make candles with them ; thanks again for sharing i love your vid
I'm not a 100% certain, but I think these wicks are:- justasoap.co.uk/wax-wick-with-cotton-core-3x20-200mm-50.html I've had them a long time now, so not sure where I bought them. But if you look elsewhere, look for these details:- These wicks are coated with a special formulated wax coating which is ideal for hot pouring and therefore ideal for containers as it can stand up on its own. They have a cotton core which of all the cores, is known to produce the hottest flame. A sustainer is already fitted to the bottom making it easy to place in your container. These wicks are bleached to give a white appearance. Suitable for candles with a diameter of up to 80mm. Length 200mm - simply trim to fit your container Only one thing with these wicks is they are a little smokey.
Another fabulous project Karen! I think I might look into making wax tarts! and candles. Thry love lovely and the red checkered top reminds me of my mom! Thanks for the great idea!
