Gen 2 tank Rosetta - higher shred than A rank tank
Gen 2 support Emperya - Times stop, switch-in buff
Gen 2 attacker Stigmata - Self-matrix, ultimate trigger QTE, rearranged orb
Gen 3 tank Watanabe - Higher shred than Gen 2 tank, reduce swap cooldown when 3s0
Gen 3 attacker Lucia - New Affix DMG that breaks through and ignores the element resistance

As for Rosetta, she at least serve as the longest meta unit.
+ Sophia n changwho (the akdilek duo) are both only a rank. Doesn't akdilek are some kind of merchant that travel with eternal engine train. Why they don't upgrade their frames. Even uncle wata (forsaken) got 3gen upgrade. Aren't they rich? Or are they broke now?

@@Miran_Toyomiuncle got his new frame is given by babylonia as a present, like a farewell veteran present (something like that). Even though forsaken and babylonia is enemies, but still do a contact as long as win win for them.
As for akdilek, they are travelling merchant. Not so many stories about them coz they just travel and havent get an impact on story. While the pgt story is about fighting punishing virus, akdilek dont even care about punishing, as long as they rich and selling to costumer. Except something horrible happen, and the plot forced akdilek to fight back.
Changyu is somewhat teased in certain story patch (i forgot what patch). Sophia is no (she is jamillah protector), so if jamillah fine, then nothing change to sophia.

Do it again with uns. SSS Tempest was meta for both WZ and PPC for a long time. SSS Roland was better than ember in WZ. S+ Pulao was meta 2 patches after Lumi leap. S+ Haicma was better than Plume in crowded WZ until Shukra patch.

She actually join the meta when get leap on Karen: Scire patches. Before that time just for copium and or Liv lover.
Luminance only became meta after her leap. People were using Liv Eclipse because she had better buffs than Luminance.
I owned both Lee and Alpha and I always preferred Lee. I found him easier, more fun, and better dps.
Alpha Abyss not better than Entropy imo.

Screw meta, I'm just sad that once characters are out of meta the characters doesn't get a new skin. Which is terrible since Nanami had none SFX coating at all.

I once said this on a video about CA vs Stigmata for WZ : "As a CA main, I don't mind CA is weaker than Stigmata. What I DO MIND is the gap between them."
It's business and I get that you can't sell a character with the same role and it's weaker than their predecessor. Still, I think it isn't fair if you have to spend multiple times the resources for a character that allegedly have the same "S-rank" and role. In this context, CA needs to be max rank (SSS+) + sig to defeat an SS3 stigmata + sig. Even then, CA win with approximately 10k difference in points. Don't get me started on Ember vs Hyperreal.....
It does make sense why most gacha games didn't care about this gap. It requires a lot of time to analyze and limits new characters capabilities. If you are making a new character with their predecessor as the base then it is not exactly a new character is it?
Hence, I respect PGR's leap system to buff older characters. As a Global 1st-gen main, it's nice to see Pulse and CA in a new light. Although it requires a lot of resources, it's technically free since you don't have to spend premium currencies.
That being said, even PGR can't escape the fact that closing this gap is not that efficient. If you haven't notice, 4 recent leaps (Garnet, Empyrea, Scire, and leaked Stigmata) are all characters that is still in the current meta. This shows that leaping old non-meta character, although gives good PR, is wasting resources. Why would you work on something that almost nobody will use?

It‘s harder for hi3, at least during my time of playing which was right up until 2.0.
You didn‘t really have meta teams rather than meta characters for a boss/abyss rotation.
Like for a time during the 5.0-6.0 era when the img otto boss dropped, you‘d use carole as a shieldbreak support, so she was meta for that one physical boss whereas usually you‘d use griseo for general phys and bleed as the go to character. Same for the dps chars.
Main issue is that characters not only have their elements but also typings for example bianca during my time was the go to phys img char but whereas hare was the phys mech char.
With all of this I am mainly trying to say that it‘s more difficult to say which character was meta and which wasn‘t because generally every new character received a new sss boss and superstring stage to force the high end nirvana players into pulling. But that new character also didn‘t exactly invalidate the previous valks because they still had their niche in which they excelled and were necessary.
Mobius for example fell out of general lightning use rather fast because of aponia but was still pretty important for that stupid sss andrius top score and superstring bio lightning
Mihoyo sucked ass at balancing back when I played hi3. PGR was a bit more steady with the meta. Aether Gazer only played for a short time. I’ve retired 3d anime hack and slash games though, they’re full of minigames and pointless content that is forced on you, rather than focusing on the combat. Endgame is always dry. Realized it’s just not worth the investment for me at least. The combat in these games are phenomenal though and looks like PGR is getting even more flashier as time passes
HI3 is the worst powercreep game ever. I will never spend a penny to hoyo scammers after playing HI3.
